Effects of light wavelength on oocyte maturation, parthenogenesis, and parthenogenetic embryo development in pigs

open access: yesThe Journal of Reproduction and Development
Assisted reproductive technologies (ART) to generate developmentally competent oocytes necessitates light exposure due to the use of microscopes. Previous studies in several species have reported that the wavelength of light during the light exposure ...

Kinetic analysis of in vitro production of wild-type Spodoptera frugiperda nucleopolyhedrovirus

open access: yesBrazilian Archives of Biology and Technology, 2010
In this study, the kinetic behavior of Sf9 and Sf21 cells used in the production of a baculovirus biopesticide to control the pest of corn Spodoptera frugiperda was analyzed. Kinetic variables such as maximum specific growth rate, cell productivity, mean

Sialyllactose and Galactooligosaccharides Promote Epithelial Barrier Functioning and Distinctly Modulate Microbiota Composition and Short Chain Fatty Acid Production In Vitro

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2019
Human milk oligosaccharides (HMO) and prebiotic oligosaccharides are proposed to confer several health benefits to the infant. They shape the microbiota, have anti-inflammatory properties, and support epithelial barrier functioning.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Efeito do transporte no desenvolvimento de embriões bovinos cultivados in vitro a fresco ou reaquecidos após vitrificação Effect of transportation on development of fresh or vitrified-warmed bovine embryos

open access: yesRevista Brasileira de Zootecnia, 2006
Avaliou-se a viabilidade de embriões bovinos cultivados in vitro, a fresco ou reaquecidos após vitrificação, depois de transportados por 6 ou 12 horas.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Evaluation of feeds from tropical origin for in vitro methane production potential and rumen fermentation in vitro

open access: yesSpanish Journal of Agricultural Research, 2015
Enteric methane arising due to fermentation of feeds in the rumen contributes substantially to the greenhouse gas emissions. Thus, like evaluation of chemical composition and nutritive values of feeds, methane production potential of each feed should be ...
