In vitro degradability, gas production, and energy value of different hybrids of sorghum after storage in mini-silos [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This experiment compared silages obtained from 3 hybrids of sorghum grown on 2 farms of the Po Valley (one irrigated and one not), in terms of in vitro degradability, gas production (GP), and energy value.

Identification of serum protein biomarkers for pre‐cancerous lesions associated with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This work identified serum proteins associated with pancreatic epithelial neoplasms (PanINs) and early‐stage PDAC. Proteomics screens assessed genetically engineered mice with abundant PanINs, KPC mice (Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐KrasG12D/+ Lox‐STOP‐Lox‐Trp53R172H/+ Pdx1‐Cre) before PDAC development and also early‐stage PDAC patients (n = 31), compared to benign ...

Impact of Mycotoxin Metabolites Deepoxy-Deoxynivalenol and Beta-Zearalenol on Bovine Preimplantation Embryo Development in the Presence of Acetonitrile

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences
The quality of animal feed is increasingly affected by weather conditions, high humidity, and damage to grains, which have led to various mycotoxin-producing moulds.

Shifts of Hydrogen Metabolism From Methanogenesis to Propionate Production in Response to Replacement of Forage Fiber With Non-forage Fiber Sources in Diets in vitro

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2018
The rumen microbial complex adaptive mechanism invalidates various methane (CH4) mitigation strategies. Shifting the hydrogen flow toward alternative electron acceptors, such as propionate, was considered to be a meaningful mitigation strategy.

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Toasting of cereal grains: effects on in vitro rumen gas production and VFA yield

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2010
The fermentation properties of the following feeds: pelleted barley (PB), toasted and pelleted barley (TPB), pelleted maize (PM) and toasted and pelleted maize (TPM) were studied using an in vitro gas production (GP) technique.

Effect of cow diet on the ruminal microflora and its in vitro fatty acid production [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of donor’s cow diet (hay or maize silage plus concentrates) on ruminal bacteria count, flora diversity and fatty acids profile (FA) of ruminal fluid and in vitro biohydrogenation (BH) of C18:2 ...

Antigen-specific electrophoretic cell separation for immunological investigations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
Preincubation of human blood lymphocytes with cell surface antigen specific antibodies under non-capping conditions reduces the electrophoretic mobility of the corresponding lymphocyte subpopulation.

In vitro production of alkaloids: Factors, approaches, challenges and prospects

open access: yesPharmacognosy Reviews, 2013
The wide diversity of plant secondary metabolites is largely used for the production of various pharmaceutical compounds. In vitro cell tissue or organ culture has been employed as a possible alternative to produce such industrial compounds.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.
