Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

Evaluation of Thermal Transfer Efficiency and Nonlinear Shear Effects on Flow Modulation in a Flexible Microfluidic Heat Transfer System

open access: yesSakarya Üniversitesi Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü Dergisi
This study examines the thermal transfer performance of a microfluidic heat transfer system, with a focus on the interplay between flow orientation, flexibility, and nonlinear shear dilution/enhancement effects.

Comment on "Magnetosensitive neurons mediate geomagnetic orientation in Caenorhabditis elegans"

open access: yeseLife, 2018
A diverse array of species on the planet employ the Earth's magnetic field as a navigational aid. As the majority of these animals are migratory, their utility to interrogate the molecular and cellular basis of the magnetic sense is limited.

Structural damage detection of elevated circular water tank and its supporting system using geodetic techniques

open access: yesGeodesy and Cartography, 2020
Water is the main source of daily life for everyone and everywhere in the world.Sufficient water distribution depends on the place and design of water tank in certain areas.Water storage tanks are relatively flexible structures and they can tolerate ...

Coorbital capture at arbitrary inclination

open access: yes, 2017
The process of capture in the coorbital region of a solar system planet is studied. Absolute capture likelihood in the 1:1 resonance is determined by randomly constructed statistical ensembles numbering $7.24\times 10^5$ of massless asteroids that are ...

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.

Misalignment of the microquasar V4641 Sgr (SAX J1819.3--2525)

open access: yes, 2008
In the microquasar V4641 Sgr the spin of the black hole is thought to be misaligned with the binary orbital axis. The accretion disc aligns with the black hole spin by the Lense-Thirring effect near to the black hole and further out becomes aligned with ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Geomagnetic measurements in Latvia

open access: yesGeodesy and Cartography, 2012
The knowledge of the Earth's magnetic field elements and their dynamic fluctuations over the area concerned are important and can be used for many practical purposes in various fields, including Geodesy and Cartography. Earth's magnetic field tends to

Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.
