Can Multipath TCP be Robust to Cyber Attacks With Incomplete Information?

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Promoted by the advancements in the various wireless access technologies, modern mobile devices equipped with multiple network interfaces are rapidly becoming the norm, and this provides a driving force for the large-scale deployment of the Multipath ...

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Iron homeostasis disruption and lipid peroxidation in skeletal muscle during short‐term immobilization

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

Black Box Optimization for Ergodic Systems in Markov Chains

open access: yesMathematics
This paper studies a black-box methodology for optimizing ergodic stochastic systems, focusing on the construction of scalar measures that reliably indicate progress toward optimality. Our starting point is a state-value quantity that inherently exhibits

INFORMATION PROCESSING WITH AN OPTICAL SENSOR WHEN INCOMPLETE INITIAL INFORMATION

open access: yesAdaptivni Sistemi Avtomatičnogo Upravlinnâ, 2019
The range of tasks, solved by the properties of classification and generalization, is quite broad. However, the quality of solving to the problem, for one reason or another, is not always the same.

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Information Fusion in a Multi-Source Incomplete Information System Based on Information Entropy

open access: yesEntropy, 2017
As we move into the information age, the amount of data in various fields has increased dramatically, and data sources have become increasingly widely distributed.

Solving PDEs with Incomplete Information

open access: yesSIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis
We consider the problem of numerically approximating the solutions to a partial differential equation (PDE) when there is insufficient information to determine a unique solution. Our main example is the Poisson boundary value problem, when the boundary data is unknown and instead one observes finitely many linear measurements of the solution.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.
