Effect of Incubation Time on Folate Values

American Journal of Clinical Pathology, 1974
The reported decrease in serum folic acid values by L. casei bioassay with increasing incubation time was reinvestigated by using an automated system to measure turbidity. No significant effect of the length of incubation time on L. casei serum folic acid value was found.

Evaluation of incubation time for dermatophytes cultures

Mycoses, 2016
SummaryIn general, it is recommended to incubate dermatophytes cultures for a minimum of 4 weeks. Several aspects of routine fungal cultures should be evaluated in order to implement appropriate and necessary changes. The aim of this study was to determine the optimum incubation time for routine dermatophytes cultures, analysing the time to find first ...

The incubation time of cancer

Medical Hypotheses, 1982
Incubation times of cancers whose initiation can be estimated relatively, precisely are distributed log-normally. This distribution is associated with a biphasic risk function, initially climbing to decline again after a certain period. A declining risk of contracting cancer implies further that the patient's chances of withstanding cancer improve with

Scrapie incubation time can exceed natural lifespan

Nature, 1975
IN mice injected with mouse-passaged scrapie, the earliest rise in titre of agent is found in organs of the lymphoreticular system—irrespective of whether the injection is intracerebral or by a peripheral route1–4. The titre of agent in the spleen, for example, can rise fairly quickly to a moderate plateau level and subsequently starts to increase ...

Incubation Time Prediction in Yoghurt Manufacturing

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1983
Abstract This paper describes a project concerning model building for prediction of the incubation time in yoghurt manufacturing. The goal for the work was to obtain a model that is easily updated and hence allows an easy prediction of the incubation time. To reach this goal, it was necessary to use a nonlinear model with a suitable structure instead

Incubation time, incubator age, and firm survival after graduation

International Journal of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Management, 2012
On the basis of a sample of 149 graduate firms from five German business incubators, this article contributes to incubator/incubation literature by investigating the effects of the age of the incubators and the firms’ incubation time in securing long-term survival of the firms after leaving the incubator facilities.

Evolution of HIV incubation times in AIDS patients

AIDS Care, 2012
Since introduction of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART), the incidence of AIDS has gradually declined, although the incidence of HIV infection is largely unknown. We have studied a sample with 10,571 patients whose data were recorded by Spain's public health system, in the Andalusian Register of Cases of AIDS. The diagnoses correspond to the

Shortening Blood Culture Incubation Times

Infectious Diseases in Clinical Practice
Abstract The increased sensitivity of blood culture monitoring systems to detect growth has played an increasingly important role in the time to detection over the past few decades. The objective of this study was to determine the optimal incubation duration that, while maintaining sensitivity, might reduce false positive blood culture ...

Evidence for an incubation time in electromigration phenomena

29th Annual Proceedings Reliability Physics 1991, 1991
A large number of identical structures as well as many different structures were analyzed. The question of which distribution provides the best fit for electromigration failure is discussed. The possible choices of a distribution are extended, and it is shown that the inclusion of a third parameter, an incubation time, leads to the most successful fit.
