Tissue culture fluid NCTC 135 (Hank's base) was compared to water and to saline as incubation media for the detection of microfilariae of Onchocerca volvulus in skin snips. NCTC 135 allowed detection of significantly more positive persons than did water (P less than 0.001) or saline (P less than 0.05) when two snips per person were incubated for ...

Loci linkage to prion incubation time
Trends in Molecular Medicine, 2001Linkage analysis from John Collinge's group (Imperial College, London, UK) has shown multiple loci that have a profound effect on incubation time of prion disease in mice. These loci, on mouse chromosomes 2, 11 and 12, could provide answers to the differences in incubation time observed in animals with identical prion sequences.

The Incubation Time — Theory and Experiment
2003We are proposing a clear definition of the term “incubation time” and we show how it can be experimentally and theoretically determined. We also demonstrate the nonhomogeneity parameter of a material and the connection between incubation time and thermodynamical characteristics.

On the mean incubation time of AIDS infections
Infection, 1987Using a nonlinear curve fitting method we calculate the incidence of AIDS cases through a study of reported data on cumulative AIDS cases. The method allows one to estimate the expected value of the incubation time, which happens to be about 11 years, if the intervals of observation are sufficiently large (greater than or equal to 45 years).

Incubation time approach in rock fracture dynamics
Science China Physics, Mechanics and Astronomy, 2011The paper is summarizing latest results connected with application of the incubation time approach to problems of dynamic fracture of rock materials. Incubation time based fracture criteria for intact media and media with cracks are discussed. Available experimental data on high rate fracture of different rock materials and incubation time based ...

Incubation times of dinosaur eggs via embryonic metabolism
Physical Review E, 2016The incubation times for the eggs of 21 dinosaurs are determined from an estimate of their embyronic metabolic rate and the mass of the hatchlings via a mass growth model based on conservation of energy. Embryos in extant birds and crocodiles are studied in order to determine the best model for embryonic metabolism and growth. These results are used to

Incubation and relaxation time for dislocation motion
