Cyclodextrins as Chiral Selectors in Capillary Electrophoresis—Recent Developments in Understanding Analyte Complexation and Applications in Pharmaceutical Analysis

open access: yesELECTROPHORESIS, Volume 47, Issue 8, Page 696-712, August 2026.
Cyclodextrins are the most often applied chiral selectors in CE enantioseparations. In combination with NMR spectroscopy and molecular modeling, studies for an understanding of chiral recognition underlying enantioseparations have been performed.

Is ‘GOLD’ standard for the management of COPD in clinical practice?

open access: yesDrugs in Context, 2012
Summary: primary therapy for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is the removal of the toxic agent (in most cases, tobacco smoke). Additional therapy includes bronchodilators.

New‐Onset Vitiligo During Dupilumab Treatment: A Clinical Observation and Literature Review

open access: yesThe Clinical Respiratory Journal, Volume 20, Issue 7, July 2026.
Dupilumab rarely induces new‐onset vitiligo, even after discontinuation of the drug, potentially through the activation of the Th1/IFN‐γ pathway following IL‐4R blockade. Female sex and the use of topical corticosteroids are associated with improved outcomes, whereas discontinuing dupilumab alone does not ensure repigmentation.

An update on the use of indacaterol in patients with COPD

open access: yesTherapeutic Advances in Respiratory Disease, 2010
Current guidelines for the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) establish that bronchodilator medications are central to the symptomatic treatment of the disease. Regular treatment with long-acting bronchodilators is recommended as more effective and convenient than short-acting bronchodilators, because the long-acting agents ...

Effectiveness of Indacaterol-Glycopyrronium in preventing COPD exacerbations in comparison to Salmeterol-Fluticasone

open access: yesBangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Journal, 2022
COPD exacerbations are complex events usually associated with increased airway inflammation, increased mucus production and marked gas trapping. These changes contribute to increased dyspnoea that is the key symptom of an exacerbation.

Light‐Based Molecular Tools to Precisely Monitor and Operate β‐Adrenoceptors

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, Volume 46, Issue 2, Page 445-474, March 2026.
ABSTRACT β‐Adrenoceptors are important G protein–coupled receptors involved in cardiovascular, metabolic, and neurological regulation. To study their function with high precision, light‐based molecular tools have been developed offering precise spatiotemporal control.

Cardiac safety of indacaterol in healthy subjects: a randomized, multidose, placebo- and positive-controlled, parallel-group thorough QT study

open access: yesBMC Pulmonary Medicine, 2011
Background Indacaterol is a novel once-daily ultra long-acting β2-agonist for the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. It is known that β2-agonists, like other adrenergic compounds, can prolong the QT-interval.

Deprescribing drugs with anticholinergic effects in older patients with increased risk of dementia in the multicomponent intervention study AgeWell.de

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, Volume 91, Issue 12, Page 3489-3500, December 2025.
Aim Drugs with anticholinergic effects are often considered as potentially inappropriate medications, especially for older patients, and deprescribing such drugs may improve cognitive function. The aim was to investigate the effectiveness of counselling on drug risks as part of a multimodal intervention to prevent cognitive decline. Methods The AgeWell.
