Interrelationship between Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) and Australian Tropical Cyclones [PDF]
Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) index plays an important role in shaping the weather conditions in the Indian Ocean and surrounding areas. It has a strong correlation with Darwin pressure. This paper attempts to unfold its relationship with the occurrence of Tropical Cyclones (TCs) in the Australian basin.

Main drivers of Indian Ocean Dipole asymmetry revealed by a simple IOD model
AbstractIndian Ocean Dipole phenomenon (IOD) refers to a dominant zonal contrast pattern of sea surface temperature anomaly (SSTA) over tropical Indian Ocean (TIO) on interannual time scales. Its positive phase, characterized by anomalously warm western TIO and anomalously cold southeastern TIO, is usually stronger than its negative phase, namely a ...

Effects of Climate Variability on Two Commercial Tuna Species Abundance in the Indian Ocean
Oceanic temperature fluctuations are one of the leading factors affecting marine fish populations. Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD), characterized as the sea surface temperature (SST) anomaly change, is an ocean–atmosphere interactive process causing ...

The influences of the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) on rainfall in South Aceh
This study aimed to examine the influences of the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) on rainfall in three districts in South Aceh. The analysis was undertaken using Dipole Mode Index (DMI) data and five years of rainfall (2016 to 2020) in West Labuhan Haji, Tapak Tuan, and Bakongan areas. This research employed a correlation analysis and the Principal Component

A biological Indian Ocean Dipole event in 2019
The 2019 positive Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) event in the boreal autumn was the most serious IOD event of the century with reports of significant sea surface temperature (SST) changes in the east and west equatorial Indian Ocean.

The IOD–ENSO Interaction: The Role of the Indian Ocean Current’s System
The Indian Ocean dipole (IOD) is one of the main modes characterizing the interannual variability of the large-scale ocean–atmosphere interaction in the equatorial zone of the World Ocean.

The Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) phenomenon is a phenomenon that occurs in the Indian Ocean due to differences in sea surface temperature anomalies between the Western Indian Ocean and Eastern Indian Ocean regions. This interaction produces high pressure in the Eastern Indian Ocean (South of Java and West of Sumatra) which causes the flow of air masses to
