Natural direct and indirect effects on the exposed : effect decomposition under weaker assumptions [PDF]
We define natural direct and indirect effects on the exposed. We show that these allow for effect decomposition under weaker identification conditions than population natural direct and indirect effects.

Characteristics of the indirect McCollough effect [PDF]
Induction of contingent color aftereffects with a single chromatic grid sometimes results in an illusory color on a grid different from the one presented during induction. Such illusory color, contingently elicited by a noninduced grid, has been termed the indirect McCollough effect (indirect ME). We show that the indirect ME occurs only when the color

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Bootstrap Model-Based Constrained Optimization Tests of Indirect Effects
In mediation analysis, conditions necessary for commonly recommended tests, including the confidence interval (CI)-based tests, to produce an accurate Type I error, do not generally hold for finite sample sizes and non-normally distributed model ...

Gravitational decoherence of atomic interferometers [PDF]
We study the decoherence of atomic interferometers due to the scattering of stochastic gravitational waves. We evaluate the `direct' gravitational effect registered by the phase of the matter waves as well as the `indirect' effect registered by the light

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Indirect Tax Reform in the Philippines: A Complementary Measure to the Tariff Reform Program, 1979-1985 [PDF]
This study analyzes the effect of the interaction between domestic indirect taxes and tariff system to the market of particular goods. Computation of effective protection rates is provided and the implications of alternative indirect tax schemes are ...
