ABSTRACT Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) is a redox cofactor derived from prokaryotes that participates in various biological processes involving dehydrogenase enzymes. Previous field trials identified a PQQ‐producing endophyte, Burkholderia seminalis 869T2, which enhances banana growth and reduces Fusarium wilt incidence from 24.5% to 3.4%.

Indoleacetic Acid Synthesis in Soybean Cotyledon Callus Tissue [PDF]
Growth of an auxin-requiring soybean cotyledon callus tissue (Glycine max L., Merr. var. Acme) was promoted by tryptophan, tryptamine, indole, indoleacetamide and, to a very slight degree, anthranilic acid. When tryptophan-3-(14)C was supplied in the growth medium, labeled indoleacetic acid (IAA) was found in both the tissue and the medium.

Graphical representation of the metabolic pathways modulated by saffron within defined microbial communities. In the tryptophan pathway, saffron decreased levels of tryptophan and anthranilic acid while increasing concentrations of indole‐3‐acetic acid and tryptamine.

Seagrass Posidonia oceanica seeds host diverse bacterial and fungal endophytes with plant‐growth–promoting traits, including nitrogen fixation and hormone production.
