The emerging role of the Hippo signaling pathway in interorgan crosstalk
Hippo signaling functions as a central hub of interorgan communication. Systemic cues from the gut, adipose tissue, and skeletal muscle—including hormones, metabolites, and microbial signals—regulate YAP/TAZ activity in a tissue‐ and context‐dependent manner.

Total synthesis of the indole alkaloid (±)-tacamine
Tetrahedron Letters, 1994Abstract The mixture of pentacyclic intermediates ( 4 ) was successfully converted into the pharmacologically interesting indole alkaloid (±)-tacamine ( 1 ). In a similar manner, the two unnatural isomers of 1 , (±)-14-epitacamine ( 9 ) and (±)-14-epi-16-epitacamine ( 10 ), were obtained from intermediate 7 .

Total Synthesis of the Monoterpenoid Indole Alkaloid (±)‐Aspidophylline A
Angewandte Chemie, 2014AbstractAspidophylline A belongs to the akuammiline alkaloid family, the members of which possess intriguing cagelike structures and diverse biological activities. Herein we report a 15‐step synthesis of this alkaloid from conveniently available starting materials. The key elements of the synthesis include an intramolecular oxidative coupling to create

Total Synthesis of Indole Alkaloid Alsmaphorazine D
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2014AbstractA concise total synthesis of rac‐alsmaphorazine D has been described for the first time. The efficient synthetic strategy features four key transformations: 1) a catalytic intramolecular oxidative cyclization for the δ‐lactamindole backbone; 2) an oxidative cyclic aminal formation for the hexahydropyrrolo[2,3‐b]pyrrole framework; 3) a ...

Total Synthesis of Indole Alkaloid (±)-Subincanadine E
Organic Letters, 2014The first total synthesis of indole alkaloid (±)-subincanadine E has been accomplished. Ni(COD)2-mediated intramolecular Michael addition and zinc-mediated fragmentation reaction served as two key transformations.

Total Syntheses of (−)‐Strictosidine and Related Indole Alkaloid Glycosides
Angewandte Chemie, 2020AbstractA collective synthesis of glycosylated monoterpenoid indole alkaloids is reported. A highly diastereoselective Pictet–Spengler reaction with α‐cyanotryptamine and secologanin tetraacetate as substrates, followed by a reductive decyanation reaction, was developed for the synthesis of (−)‐strictosidine, which is an important intermediate in ...

Total synthesis of indole alkaloid pendolmycin
Tetrahedron, 1990Abstract The teleocidin class of an indole alkaloid, pendolmycin (1) was synthesized from 1-(4-methylphenylsulfonyl)pyrrole in thirteen steps by way of the indole derivative (16), the amino- diester compound (6), and the ethyl carboxylate (5).

Asymmetric Total Syntheses of Kopsia Indole Alkaloids
Angewandte Chemie International Edition, 2017AbstractThe asymmetric total syntheses of a group of structurally complex Kopsia alkaloids, (−)‐kopsine, (−)‐isokopsine, (+)‐methyl chanofruticosinate, (−)‐fruticosine, and (−)‐kopsanone, has been achieved. The key strategies for the construction of the molecular complexity in the targets included an asymmetric Tsuji–Trost rearrangement to set the ...
