In Situ Polyurea Integration for Self‐Healing, Durable Transparent Electromagnetic‐Interference Shielding Film

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A steric‐hindrance molecular engineering strategy uses dimethyl maleate (DMM) to convert poly(1,4‐butanediol) bis(4‐aminobenzoate) (PBDAB) into a precursor with reduced reactivity via Michael addition, thereby retarding the curing process to form a transparent, ultraflexible, and self‐healable secondary‑amine polyurea (PuSA) with a crosslinked network.

Indoor localization based on hybrid Wi-Fi hotspots [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Most existing indoor localization algorithms basedon Wi-Fi signals mainly rely on wireless access points (APs), i.e. hotspots, with fixed deployment, which are easily affected by the non-line of sight (NLOS) factors and the multipath effect.

Field‐Driven Activation of Solid‐State Devices in Open Circuits for Energy Harvesting and Wireless Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Time‐varying electric fields can activate solid‐state devices such as LEDs and capacitors for energy harvesting and powering in open circuits. The response of solid‐state devices to time‐varying electric fields caused by vibrations can be utilised for smart sensing of human motions and object vibrations.

Dual-sensor fusion for indoor user localisation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper we address the automatic identification of in- door locations using a combination of WLAN and image sensing. Our motivation is the increasing prevalence of wear- able cameras, some of which can also capture WLAN data.

Concurrently Achieving 4.6 W/M2 and 120,000 Cyclability Enabled by Extendable Swing Arms in Rotational Triboelectric Nanogenerator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rotational energy harvesting device that successfully reconciles high power density with mechanical durability through a hybrid sliding‐and‐bouncing kinematic mechanism is reported. The success reported in our paper includes addressing a dilemma where enhanced electrical output comes at the cost of increased friction and wear, limiting the practical ...

Bionic Solar‐Powered Heavy Metal Trap for Eco‐Friendly Sludge Drying and Simultaneous Electricity Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein, we propose a solar‐powered heavy metal trap (SPHT) for sludge disposal. The indoor experiments demonstrated that the sludge water content decreased from 90 % to 31 %, coupled with a decrease in heavy metal content to 6 % at most. Furthermore, the designed SPHT generated an initial potential of 0.10 V, and monitoring this hydrovoltaic potential ...
