Endophytic fungus Beauveria bassiana induces antioxidant enzyme activities and enhances the growth of Rhizoctonia solani-infected potato plants

open access: yesВестник защиты растений
The physiological and biochemical changes in potato plants colonized by the endophytic form of the entomophatogenic fungus Beauveria bassiana (Ascomycota: Hypocreales) were analyzed under biotic stress caused by infection with the phytopathogen ...

Potency of six isolates of biocontrol agents endophytic Trichoderma against fusarium wilt on banana

open access: yesJournal of Degraded and Mining Lands Management, 2017
Fusarium wilt caused by F. oxysporum f.sp. cubense is one of very damaging banana plant diseases which can cause plant death. Disease control using intensive chemical fungicides will have negative impacts on the environment and humans.

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Metrics and spectral triples for Dirichlet and resistance forms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The article deals with intrinsic metrics, Dirac operators and spectral triples induced by regular Dirichlet and resistance forms. We show, in particular, that if a local resistance form is given and the space is compact in resistance metric, then the ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Multiple and virtual photon processes in radiation-induced magnetoresistance oscillations in two-dimensional electron systems

open access: yes, 2006
Recently discovered new structures and zero-resistance states outside the well-known oscillations are demonstrated to arise from multiphoton assisted processes, by a detailed analysis of microwave photoresistance in two-dimensional electron systems under

Induced Systemic Resistance by Beneficial Microbes

open access: yesAnnual Review of Phytopathology, 2014
Beneficial microbes in the microbiome of plant roots improve plant health. Induced systemic resistance (ISR) emerged as an important mechanism by which selected plant growth–promoting bacteria and fungi in the rhizosphere prime the whole plant body for enhanced defense against a broad range of pathogens and insect herbivores.

Cis‐regulatory and long noncoding RNA alterations in breast cancer – current insights, biomarker utility, and the critical need for functional validation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.

Application of Sodium Silicate Enhances Cucumber Resistance to Fusarium Wilt and Alters Soil Microbial Communities

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2018
Exogenous silicates can enhance plant resistance to pathogens and change soil microbial communities. However, the relationship between changes in soil microbial communities and enhanced plant resistance remains unclear.

Detection of circulating tumor DNA in colorectal cancer patients using a methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We developed a cost‐effective methylation‐specific droplet digital PCR multiplex assay containing tissue‐conserved and tumor‐specific methylation markers. The assay can detect circulating tumor DNA with high accuracy in patients with localized and metastatic colorectal cancer.
