Inductive instrument transformers are widely-used to measure currents in the power grid. Harmonics currents increase due to the proliferation of nonlinear equipment in the power grid. At higher frequencies, eddy currents inside the core increase, causing a change of the electrical parameters of the current instrument transformer (CT).

Concordia Transform-Based Current Analysis for Induction Motor Diagnosis
Key Engineering Materials, 2013This paper presents a new approach for bearing defect diagnosis in induction motor by taking advantage of three-phase stator current analysis based on Concordia transform. The current signature caused by bearing defect is firstly analyzed using an analytic model.
