Investigation on Dominant Frequency of Partial Discharge Current in 6.6 kV Cast Resin Voltage Transformer

IEEE International Conference on Condition Monitoring and Diagnosis, 2022
This study aims to establish an insulation diagnosis technique using partial discharge (PD) detection for cast resin transformers (CRTr). In the previous paper, the frequency components of PD current in a PD test of a CRTr by applying AC voltage between ...

Analysis and Solution of Voltage Rise Phenomenon in Small Inductive Current Switching Test of High Voltage AC Disconnector

2024 10th International Conference on Electrical Engineering, Control and Robotics (EECR)
During the small inductive current switching test of high-voltage AC disconnector, the short-circuit impedance of the power frequency test transformer leads to the phenomenon of voltage rise on the power supply side of high-voltage AC disconnector after ...

Overvoltages caused by the interruption of small inductive transformer currents

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 1988
The interruption of small inductive currents can cause high overvoltages, which may overstress the dielectric strength of the equipment. Based on detailed dynamic models for the circuit breaker and the transformer, a variety of parameters which influence these overvoltages is systematically investigated by digital simulation.

The calibration of current transformers by means of mutual inductance: The measurement of mutual inductance and self-inductance and alternating current resistance

Proceedings of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1915
Reasons are given for the selection of initial inductances as a means for calibrating current transformers, the most important of which is the wide use to which they may be put besides the calibration of current transformers. The design and manufacture of the apparatus is described, reasons being given for the choice of the form of the secondary coils ...

Bearing fault detection using wavelet packet transform of induction motor stator current

Tribology International, 2007
Induction motor vibrations, caused by bearing defects, result in the modulation of the stator current. In this research, bearing defect is detected using the stator current analysis via Meyer wavelet in the wavelet packet structure, with energy comparison as the fault index. The advantage of this method is in the detection of incipient faults.
