Integrated Shock Absorber With Both Tunable Inertance and Damping

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2020
Inerter is a two-terminal mass element, and the applied force is proportional to the relative acceleration between the terminals. According to the second class of mechanical–electrical analogy, the inerter corresponds exactly to the capacitor in the ...

Reliability-based design of tuned mass-damper-inerter (TMDI) equipped multi-storey frame buildings under seismic excitation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The reliability based optimal design is considered of tuned mass-damper-inerter (TMDI) equipped linear building frames subject to seismic excitations modeled as stationary colored random processes.

Enhanced motion control performance of the tuned mass damper inerter through primary structure shaping

open access: yesStructural Control & Health Monitoring, 2021
The tuned mass damper inerter (TMDI) is a linear passive dynamic vibration absorber widely considered in the literature to mitigate the motion of dynamically excited primary structures.

Intein‐based modular chimeric antigen receptor platform for specific CD19/CD20 co‐targeting

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CARtein is a modular CAR platform that uses split inteins to splice antigen‐recognition modules onto a universal signaling backbone, enabling precise, scarless assembly without re‐engineering signaling domains. Deployed here against CD19 and CD20 in B‐cell malignancies, the design supports flexible multi‐antigen targeting to boost T‐cell activation and

Suspension performance with one damper and one inerter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In Chen & Smith 2009, a class of realizations in which the number of dampers and inerters is restricted to one in each case, while allowing an arbitrary number of springs (which is the easiest element to realize practically), was considered and it was ...

Effect of chemotherapy on passenger mutations in metastatic colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Changes in passenger mutation load and predicted immunotherapy response after chemotherapy treatment. Tumor cells rich with passenger mutations have increased sensitivity to chemotherapy. Correlation of passenger mutations with neoantigen load suggests highly mutated clones promote a more effective response to immunotherapy, and therefore, first‐line ...

Physics, Tuning, and Performance of the TMD-Inerter for Harmonic Vibrations

open access: yesCivilEng
This paper analyzes the physics of the TMD-Inerter for harmonic vibrations. The basic TMD-Inerter layout is assumed, where the inerter is installed between the TMD mass and the structural mass. For harmonic vibrations, the inerter force can be formulated

Optimum design of the tuned mass-damper-inerter for serviceability limit state performance in wind-excited tall buildings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Optimally designed tuned mass-damper-inerters (TMDIs) are considered to meet code-prescribed serviceability criteria in typical wind-excited tall buildings subject to vortex shedding effects in a performance-based design context.

Statistical seismic performance assessment of tuned mass damper inerter

open access: yesStructural Control & Health Monitoring, 2020
In this study, the robust optimum design of a recently developed passive control device, i.e., tuned mass damper inerter (TMDI) is investigated to control a 10‐story base‐excited shear building benchmark.

Engineering tandem VHHs to target different epitopes to enhance antibody‐dependent cell‐mediated cytotoxicity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Tandem VHH targeting distinct EGFR epitopes were engineered into a monovalent bispecific antibody (7D12‐EGA1‐Fc) with more potent ADCC without increasing affinity to EGFR. Structural modeling of 7D12‐EGA1‐Fc showed cross‐linking of separate EGFR domains to enhance CD16a engagement on NK cells.
