Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Coordinated control strategy for improving inertial response and primary frequency modulation in wind power full DC system

open access: yes电力工程技术
A coordinated control strategy for a variable-coefficient wind power full DC system to address problems such as reduced system inertia and insufficient frequency regulation abilities in the AC grid caused by the integration of wind power full DC systems ...

Nonlinear dynamic response analysis of two-stage spur gear space driving mechanism with large inertia load [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Large inertia load has been widely used in space driving mechanisms, but the research concerning theory is still an unexplored scientific field. Towards the problem of nonlinear disturbance in space driving mechanism with large inertia load, a 14-DOF ...

Techno-economic assessment of energy storage technologies for inertia response and frequency support from wind farms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper provides the result of a techno-economic study of potential energy storage technologies deployable at wind farms to provide short-term ancillary services such as inertia response and frequency support.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Inertia and discounting in the selection of socially responsible investments

open access: yesAnnals in Social Responsibility, 2016
Purpose Socially responsible investment (SRI) funds have grown dramatically as an investment alternative in most of the developed world. The paper aims to discuss this issue. Design/methodology/approach This study uses a structured experimental ...

Inertia and shock effects on mode choice panel data: implications of the Transantiago implementation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The mode choice process, especially in the case of commuter trips, reflects the strong tendency people have to simplify the assessment of their options when confronted with successive well-known decisions.

Thouless-Valatin rotational moment of inertia from linear response theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Spontaneous breaking of continuous symmetries of a nuclear many-body system results in the appearance of zero-energy restoration modes. These so-called spurious Nambu-Goldstone modes represent a special case of collective motion and are sources of ...

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Analytical Inertia Identification of Doubly Fed Wind Farm with Limited Control Information Based on Symbolic Regression

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The integration of large-scale wind power clusters significantly reduces the inertia level of the power system, increasing the risk of frequency instability. Accurately assessing the equivalent virtual inertia of wind farms is critical for grid stability.
