Characterization of Immunosuppression in Chickens by Infectious Bursal Disease Virus
Avian Diseases, 1979Chickens were infected with infectious bursal disease (IBD) virus in ovo or at different times posthatching to 6 weeks of age. The B- and T-cell responses in the lymphoid tissues and blood were examined sequentially to 8 weeks of age by using indirect immunofluorescence.

Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV)
2019Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) is one of the most important viral pathogens of chickens. This virus causes great economic losses to the poultry industry due to factors like high mortality rates and poor growth performance of the affected chickens.

Infectious bursal disease virus of chickens: pathogenesis and immunosuppression
Developmental & Comparative Immunology, 2000Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) is an important immunosuppressive virus of chickens. The virus is ubiquitous and, under natural conditions, chickens acquire infection by the oral route. IgM+ cells serve as targets for the virus. The most extensive virus replication takes place in the bursa of Fabricius.

Genetic reassortment of infectious bursal disease virus in nature
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2006Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV), a double-stranded RNA virus, is a member of the Birnaviridae family. Four pathotypes of IBDV, attenuated, virulent, antigenic variant, and very virulent (vvIBDV), have been identified. We isolated and characterized the genomic reassortant IBDV strain ZJ2000 from severe field outbreaks in commercial flocks.

Random cDNA Probes to Infectious Bursal Disease Virus
Avian Diseases, 1990Viruses from three commercially available modified-live infectious bursal disease virus vaccines were propagated in tissue culture. Following this, a series of 32P-labeled probes was generated using the entire RNA genome as template for formation of randomly primed cDNAs.

Localization of a VP3 epitope of infectious bursal disease virus
Virology, 1991An immunodominant region of VP3, one of the two structural proteins of infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV strain 002-73), has been mapped by restriction site-specific deletion analysis and subcloning in Escherichia coli, followed by immunoblot analysis of the synthesized products.

Molecular Identification of Infectious Bursal Disease Virus Strains
Avian Diseases, 1997Twenty-two infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) strains were examined using the reverse transcriptase/polymerase chain reaction-restriction endonuclease (RT/PCR-RE) assay. A 394-bp fragment of the VP2 gene was amplified and tested for six different restriction enzyme sites.

Reassortant infectious bursal disease virus isolated in China
Virus Research, 2008Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) is a bi-segmented, double-stranded RNA virus which belongs to the genus Avibirnavirus of the family Birnavirideae. In this study, we determined the complete nucleotide sequences of a reassortment IBDV strain TL2004 with segments A and B derived from attenuated and very virulent strains of IBDV.

Agglutination of chicken lymphocytes by infectious bursal disease virus
Veterinary Microbiology, 1995Four serotype 1 field strains of infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) and one reference standard serotype 1 strain were tested for their ability to agglutinate peripheral blood lymphocytes of chickens. All the five strains agglutinated chicken lymphocytes. The agglutination was not inhibited by serotype 1 reference anti-IBDV serum.

Replication of infectious bursal disease virus in lymphoid cells
Archives of Virology, 1986Replication of infectious bursal disease virus in lymphoid cells from the bursa of Fabricius occurs preferentially in a population of proliferating cells characterized by increased thymidine incorporation and by blast cell formation. This was demonstrated by enrichment of virus producing cells in gradients of bovine serum albumin and by mitogenic ...
