Microphysiological Systems in Cancer Research: Advancing Immunotherapy through Tumor Microenvironment‐Integrated Organ‐On‐Chip Models

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Emerging microphysiological systems reproduce the spatial, biochemical, and cellular complexity of the tumor microenvironment, surpassing 2D cultures and murine models. By integrating patient‐derived tumors, perfusable vasculature, and immune trafficking, these organ‐on‐chip platforms reveal mechanisms of immune evasion, predict therapeutic responses ...

The mesenteric adipokine SFRP5 alleviated intestinal epithelial apoptosis improving barrier dysfunction in Crohn's disease

open access: yesiScience
Summary: The hypertrophic mesenteric adipose tissue (htMAT) of Crohn disease (CD) participates in inflammation through the expression of adipokines, but the exact mechanism of this action in the intestine is unknown.

Evolution of Ocular Organ‐On‐Chip Systems for Disease Modelling and Drug Testing: Where are We Now?

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
The rise in ophthalmic diseases due to aging, screen use, and environmental factors has driven demand for better ocular models. Traditional systems fall short, encouraging the development of organ‐on‐chip devices. These microfluidic platforms replicate eye tissue architecture, enable drug screening, and simulate ocular diseases.
