Learning with side information: PAC learning bounds

open access: yesJournal of Computer and System Sciences, 2004
This paper considers a modification of a PAC learning theory problem in which each instance of the training data is supplemented with side information. In this case, a transformation, given by a side-information map, of the training instance is also classified.

Information Seeking as Explorative Learning [PDF]

open access: yesElectronic Workshops in Computing, 1999
The paper starts with an overview of major problems hindering effective interactions with information retrieval systems. A brief review of models of the interaction taking place during information seeking is then provided with the aim of lying the ground for yet another model based on two levels of interaction: presentation and navigation.
