Vertex Graph-Coloring-Based Pilot Assignment With Location-Based Channel Estimation for Massive MIMO Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) is considered as a promising technique in wireless communication systems, which contains cellular base stations equipped with a very large number of antennas to serve multiple users.

Implications of information theory in optical fibre communications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Recent decades have witnessed steady improvements in our ability to harness the information-carrying capability of optical fibres. Will this process continue, or will progress eventually stall? Information theory predicts that all channels have a limited

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Generative Control Theory for Information Security

open access: yes, 2014
Increasing information security losses, coupled with more closely regulated security risk disclosure, are raising the importance of information security standards for identifying control gaps and for implementing appropriate and effective information ...

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Low-Complexity Gaussian Detection for MIMO Systems

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2010
For single-carrier transmission over delay-spread multi-input multi-output (MIMO) channels, the computational complexity of the receiver is often considered as a bottleneck with respect to (w.r.t.) practical implementations.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Disjoint Pilot Power and Data Power Allocation in Multi-Cell Multi-User Massive MIMO Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
In this paper, we consider pilot and data power allocation in multi-cell multi-user massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems to maximize the summation of spectral efficiency (sum SE).

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

The Connection between Bayesian Inference and Information Theory for Model Selection, Information Gain and Experimental Design

open access: yes, 2019
We show a link between Bayesian inference and information theory that is useful for model selection, assessment of information entropy and experimental design.
