Covert channel detection using Information Theory
This paper presents an information theory based detection framework for covert channels. We first show that the usual notion of interference does not characterize the notion of deliberate information flow of covert channels.

This study used longitudinal transcriptomics and gene‐pattern classification to uncover patient‐specific mechanisms of chemotherapy resistance in breast cancer. Findings reveal preexisting drug‐tolerant states in primary tumors and diverse gene rewiring patterns across patients, converging on a few dysregulated functional modules. Despite receiving the

There is a widespread idea that in grounded theory (GT) research, the researcher has to delay the literature review until the end of the analysis to avoid contamination – a dictum that might turn educational researchers away from GT. Nevertheless, in this article the author (a) problematizes the dictum of delaying a literature review in classic ...

B‐cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B‐CLL) and monoclonal B‐cell lymphocytosis (MBL) show altered proteomes and phosphoproteomes, analyzed using mass spectrometry, protein microarrays, and western blotting. Identifying 2970 proteins and 316 phosphoproteins, including 55 novel phosphopeptides, we reveal BCR and NF‐kβ/STAT3 signaling in disease ...

Frequency Value Grammar and Information Theory [PDF]
I previously laid the groundwork for Frequency Value Grammar (FVG) in papers I submitted in the proceedings of the 4th International Conference on Cognitive Science (2003), Sydney Australia, and Corpus Linguistics Conference (2003), Lancaster, UK. FVG is

In this paper, I presented a more profound solution than the previous solutions to Maxwell's demon paradox – which are circular solutions that reconstruct the paradox with some restrictive assumptions to confiscate certain working conditions on demon in order to fit the already challenged answer: they did not seriously solve the paradox, but rather ...

Low-Complexity Gaussian Detection for MIMO Systems
For single-carrier transmission over delay-spread multi-input multi-output (MIMO) channels, the computational complexity of the receiver is often considered as a bottleneck with respect to (w.r.t.) practical implementations.

Brain activity and cognition: a connection from thermodynamics and information theory
The connection between brain and mind is an important scientific and philosophical question that we are still far from completely understanding. A crucial point to our work is noticing that thermodynamics provides a convenient framework to model brain ...
