ANESTHETIC, ANALGETIC, HYPNOTIC – ARE THE TERMS IMPORTANT?

open access: yesВестник анестезиологии и реаниматологии, 2017
The review is devoted to pharmacology of the general anesthesia in the light of current understanding of this event and as a medical technique. The discussion covers the classification of medications used for general anesthesia basing on action mechanisms

The method of inhalation therapy with micro-doses of mixtures noble gases with oxygen [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
In this research, we presented the method of inhalation therapy with noble gas micro-doses and results of clinical studies in hospital of Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS). We have designed a device that allows dosed injection of noble gas with a volume of about 2-4 ml with peroxide vapors into the nasal cavity.

The thermodynamics of lipid ion channel formation in the absence and presence of anesthetics. BLM experiments and simulations [PDF]

open access: yesSoft Matter, 2009, 5: 3319-3330, 2009
It is known that lipid membranes become permeable in their melting regime. In microscopic conductance measurements on black lipid membranes one finds that conduction takes place via quantized events closely resembling those reported for protein ion channels. Here, we present data of ion currents through black lipid membranes in the presence and absence

ON OF AIR POLLUTION WITH INHALATION ANESTHETICS AND DISINFECTANTS IN OPERATING ROOMS

open access: yesВестник анестезиологии и реаниматологии, 2018
At present levels of air pollution with inhalation anesthetics and disinfectants in operating rooms as well as protection from their unfavorable effect on health and professional activities of the surgical personnel are underexplored.

Early, Subclinical Hematological Changes Associated with Occupational Exposure to High Levels of Nitrous Oxide

open access: yesToxics, 2018
This study was undertaken to determine whether exposure of operating room personnel to inhalation anesthetics, nitrous oxide, isoflurane, and sevoflurane was associated with any hematological changes. This historical cohort study was performed in 2018 at

Effect of atracurium and rocuronium on the state and response entropy during isoflurane anesthesia: randomized prospective study

open access: yesAin Shams Journal of Anesthesiology, 2023
Background Several researches have examined the impact of inhalation anesthetics, intravenous anesthetics, and muscle relaxants on spectral entropy, but many did not evaluate the extent of neuromuscular block.

Vibrational Infrared Lifetime of the Anesthetic nitrous oxide gas in solution [PDF]

open access: yesBiophysical Review Letters, 1:309-316 (2006), 2007
The lifetime of the asymmetric fundamental stretching 2218 cm$^{-1}$ vibration of the anesthetic gas nitrous oxide (N$_2$O) dissolved in octanol and olive oil is reported. These solvents are model systems commonly used to assess anesthetic potency. Picosecond time-scale molecular dynamics simulations have suggested that protein dynamics or membrane ...

Comparison of hepatic and renal function between inhalation anesthesia with sevoflurane and remifentanil and total intravenous anesthesia with propofol and remifentanil for thyroidectomy [PDF]

open access: yesKorean Journal of Anesthesiology, 2013
BackgroundInhalation anesthetics are an important factor for postoperative hepatic and renal dysfunction. In this regard, TIVA can reduce the risk of hepatic and renal dysfunction inherited to inhalation anesthetics.

Carbogen inhalation during Non-Convulsive Status Epilepticus: A quantitative analysis of EEG recordings [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Objective: To quantify the effect of inhaled 5% carbon-dioxide/95% oxygen on EEG recordings from patients in non-convulsive status epilepticus (NCSE). Methods: Five children of mixed aetiology in NCSE were given high flow of inhaled carbogen (5% carbon dioxide/95% oxygen) using a face mask for maximum 120s. EEG was recorded concurrently in all patients.
