In vitro and computational insights revealing the potential inhibitory effect of Tanshinone IIA against influenza A virus

Comput. Biol. Medicine, 2021
Seasonal human influenza is a serious respiratory infection caused by influenza viruses that can be found all over the world. Type A influenza is a contagious viral infection that, if left untreated, can lead to life-threatening consequences. Fortunately,

Determination of half maximal inhibitory concentration of CaAl layered double hydroxide on cancer cells and its role in the apoptotic pathway

Applied Clay Science, 2019
In continuation of our previous work, which proposed a new direction of application of the bare, phase pure CaAl LDH as an active anticancer agent, the efficacy of the system was assessed by determination of half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC 50 )

Development of Quantum Chemical Method to Calculate Half Maximal Inhibitory Concentration (IC50)

Molecular Informatics, 2016
AbstractTill date theoretical calculation of the half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50 ) of a compound is based on different Quantitative Structure Activity Relationship (QSAR) models which are empirical methods. By using the Cheng‐Prusoff equation it may be possible to compute IC50, but this will be computationally very expensive as it requires ...

Mutations in the 50S ribosomal subunit of Brachyspira hyodysenteriae associated with altered minimum inhibitory concentrations of pleuromutilins

Veterinary Microbiology, 2014
Brachyspira hyodysenteriae, the causative agent of swine dysentery, is responsible for severe mucohaemorrhagic colitis with considerable financial loss to worldwide swine production. Antimicrobial resistance against macrolides and lincosamides is widespread and the mechanisms are well known.

Nonlinear concentration gradients regulated by the width of channels for observation of half maximal inhibitory concentration (IC50) of transporter proteins

The Analyst, 2015
We determine a probable IC50 value of ABC transporter proteins by using a width-modulated nonlinear concentration gradient generator.

BCR–ABL activity measured by 50% inhibitory concentration for imatinib, p-CrkL/CrkL ratio or p-CrkL ratio in CD34+ cells of patients with chronic myeloid leukemia does not predict treatment response

Leukemia & Lymphoma, 2012
In this study, we assessed BCR-ABL kinase activity by measuring the protein levels of CrkL and its phosphorylated form (p-CrkL) in order to predict the clinical outcome of newly diagnosed chronic myeloid leukemia patients. CD34+ cells from these patients were collected before the start of imatinib therapy and treated in vitro with imatinib.

Influence of polystyrene microplastics on the growth, photosynthetic efficiency and aggregation of freshwater microalgae Chlamydomonas reinhardtii.

Science of the Total Environment, 2020
Microplastics are ubiquitous in aquatic ecosystems worldwide, but knowledge on their impacts on phytoplankton, especially freshwater microalgae, is still limited. To investigate this issue, microalgae Chlamydomonas reinhardtii was exposed to polystyrene (
