The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Initial Orbit Determination Solution Distribution with Gooding Algorithm and Performance Enhancement

open access: yesSpace: Science & Technology
An initial orbit determination (IOD) solution from angles-only observations of a single short orbit arc is often required for applications such as tracklet association and fast reacquisition of a newly detected space object.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

An intelligent interface for satellite operations: Your Orbit Determination Assistant (YODA) [PDF]

open access: yes
An intelligent interface is often characterized by the ability to adapt evaluation criteria as the environment and user goals change. Some factors that impact these adaptations are redefinition of task goals and, hence, user requirements; time ...

Orbit determination and control for the European Student Moon Orbiter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Scheduled for launch in 2014-2015 the European Student Moon Orbiter (ESMO) will be the first lunar microsatellite designed entirely by the student population.

INPOP08, a 4-D planetary ephemeris: From asteroid and time-scale computations to ESA Mars Express and Venus Express contributions

open access: yes, 2009
The latest version of the planetary ephemerides developed at the Paris Observatory and at the Besancon Observatory is presented here. INPOP08 is a 4-dimension ephemeris since it provides to users positions and velocities of planets and the relation ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Autonomous Orbit Determination of LLO Satellite Using DRO–LLO Links and Lunar Laser Ranging

open access: yesAerospace
A stable and high-precision autonomous orbit determination scheme for a Low Lunar Orbit (LLO) spacecraft is proposed, leveraging satellite-to-satellite tracking (SST) measurement data and lunar laser ranging data.

Gravity tests with INPOP planetary ephemerides

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, we present several gravity tests made in using the last INPOP08 planetary ephemerides. We first propose two methods to estimate the PPN parameter $\beta$ and its correlated value, the Sun J2 and we discuss the correlation between the Sun ...

Probabilistic Initial Orbit Determination

open access: yes, 2016
Future space surveillance requires dealing with uncertainties directly in the initial orbit determination phase. We propose an approach based on Taylor differential algebra to both solve the initial orbit determination (IOD) problem and to map uncertainties from the observables space into the orbital elements space. This is achieved by approximating in
