Intestinal Listeria monocytogenes infection is not efficient in mice and this has been attributed to a low affinity interaction between the bacterial surface protein InlA and E-cadherin on murine intestinal epithelial cells. Previous studies using either

Recombination and Positive Selection Contribute to Evolution of \u3cem\u3eListeria monocytogenes inlA\u3c/em\u3e [PDF]
The surface molecule InlA interacts with E-cadherin to promote invasion of Listeria monocytogenes into selected host cells. DNA sequencing of inlA for 40 L. monocytogenes isolates revealed 107 synonymous and 45 nonsynonymous substitutions.

ABSTRACT The Global Burden of Disease (GBD) database provides essential primary data for public health research. However, its complexity and diversity pose challenges for conducting advanced secondary analyses. To address these challenges, we developed easyGBDR, an innovative integrated R toolkit designed to facilitate the secondary analysis of GBD ...

Using INLA to fit a complex point process model with temporally varying effects – a case study [PDF]
Integrated nested Laplace approximation (INLA) provides a fast and yet quite exact approach to fitting complex latent Gaussian models which comprise many statistical models in a Bayesian context, including log Gaussian Cox processes. This paper discusses

InlAm mediates targeting of villous M cells. [PDF]
The intestinal ileum was taken from E16P KI mice and wt mice orally inoculated by 1010 Li-inlA and Li-inlAm at 5 hr post infection, respectively. The intestinal tissues were fixed and stained with WGA for goblet cells, NKM 16-2-4 monoclonal antibody for ...

Home range shifts and habitat selection across life‐history stages in grey partridges
Understanding how birds use space throughout the year is essential for effective conservation planning, even in resident species. We investigated seasonal space use in a Central European population of grey partridges Perdix perdix, a rapidly declining residential farmland bird.

A Bayes factor framework for unified parameter estimation and hypothesis testing
Abstract The Bayes factor, the data‐based updating factor of the prior to posterior odds of two hypotheses, is a natural measure of statistical evidence for one hypothesis over the other. We show how Bayes factors can also be used for parameter estimation.
