lncRNAs Regulate Innate Immune Responses and Their Roles in Macrophage Polarization
Mediators of Inflammation, 2018 The innate immune system is the first line of defense against microbial pathogens. The activated innate immune system plays important roles in eliciting antimicrobial defenses.

Innate Immune Sensing by Cells of the Adaptive Immune System
Frontiers in Immunology, 2020 Sensing of microbes or of danger signals has mainly been attributed to myeloid innate immune cells. However, T and B cells also express functional pattern recognition receptors (PRRs).

The Emerging Role of Pattern Recognition Receptors in the Pathogenesis of Malaria
Vaccines, 2018 Despite a global effort to develop an effective vaccine, malaria is still a significant health problem. Much of the pathology of malaria is immune mediated. This suggests that host immune responses have to be finely regulated.

The Innate Immune System in Alzheimer’s Disease
International Journal of Cell Biology, 2013 Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the leading cause for dementia in the world. It is characterized by two biochemically distinct types of protein aggregates: amyloid β (Aβ) peptide in the forms of parenchymal amyloid plaques and congophilic amyloid angiopathy (
