Multi-Channel CNN Based Inner-Attention for Compound Sentence Relation Classification

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Relation classification is a vital task in natural language processing, and it is screening for semantic relation between clauses in texts. This paper describes a study of relation classification on Chinese compound sentences without connectives.

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Public Transportation Accessibility, Proximity to New York City, and Residential Property Values in New Jersey

open access: yesHatfield Graduate Journal of Public Affairs, 2020
In recent years as housing with better transit accessibility has become unaffordable to many households in many regions globally, the call to study the connection between transit and property values has shifted to concern itself with the negative ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Balanced Diplexers Based on Inner-Coupled Dual-Mode Structures With Intrinsic Common-Mode Suppression

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
In this paper, a novel topology of a balanced diplexer is proposed. It is composed of a dual-mode structure and two sets of resonators at distinct frequencies. The dual-mode structure has two resonances serving for two three-pole passbands, respectively,

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Neutron star mergers chirp about vacuum energy

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2018
Observations of gravitational waves from neutron star mergers open up novel directions for exploring fundamental physics: they offer the first access to the structure of objects with a non-negligible contribution from vacuum energy to their total mass ...
