Technological and theoretical aspects for testing electroporation on liposomes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Recently, the use of nanometer liposomes as nanocarriers in drug delivery systems mediated by nanoelectroporation has been proposed. This technique takes advantage of the possibility of simultaneously electroporating liposomes and cell membrane with 10 ...

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Electronic-structure calculations for nonisothermal warm dense matter

open access: yesPhysical Review Research, 2020
Warm dense matter (WDM) is an exotic state of matter that is inherently difficult to model theoretically, due to the fact that the thermal Coulomb coupling and quantum effects are comparable in magnitude and must be treated on equal footing, foregoing ...

Synthesis, Characterization, and NH3-SCR Catalytic Performance of Fe-Modified MCM-36 Intercalated with Various Pillars

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
Two series of MCM-36 zeolites intercalated with various pillars and modified with iron were synthesized, analyzed with respect to their physicochemical properties, and tested as catalysts for the NH3-SCR process.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Release mechanisms of PLGA microparticles prepared using a microfluidics device or a beaker

open access: yesInternational Journal of Pharmaceutics: X
The aim of this study was to better understand the release mechanisms of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) microparticles prepared via emulsification - solvent extraction/evaporation using a “classical beaker” vs. a “microfluidics device”.

Experimental and numerical investigation on mixing and axial dispersion in Taylor-Couette flow patterns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Taylor-Couette flows between two concentric cylinders have great potential applications in chemical engineering. They are particularly convenient for two-phase small scale devices enabling solvent extraction operations.
