High C2-C4 selectivity in CO2 hydrogenation by particle size control of Co-Fe alloy nanoparticles wrapped on N-doped graphitic carbon

open access: yesiScience, 2022
Summary: A catalyst based on first-row Fe and Co with a record of 51% selectivity to C2-C4 hydrocarbons at 36% CO2 conversion is disclosed. The factors responsible for the C2+ selectivity are a narrow Co-Fe particle size distribution of about 10 nm and ...

Oxygen vacancies in Ru/TiO2 - drivers of low-temperature CO2 methanation assessed by multimodal operando spectroscopy

open access: yesiScience, 2022
Summary: Hydrogenation of CO2 is very attractive for transforming this greenhouse gas into valuable high energy density compounds. In this work, we developed a highly active and stable Ru/TiO2 catalyst for CO2 methanation prepared by a solgel method that

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Co(III) based surfactant complexes and their Dye, BSA and free radical activities

open access: yesHeliyon, 2019
Study reports the preparation of metal/surfactant complexes or Metal Organic Ionic Framework (MOIF) based on ionic interaction of [Co(NH3)6]3+ and Dioctyl sulfosuccinate (AOT)/Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS).

Coking-resistant dry reforming of methane over Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalysts by rationally steering metal-support interaction

open access: yesiScience, 2021
Summary: The coking issue is the main challenge for dry reforming of methane (DRM) over Ni-based catalysts. Herein, we excavate the reasons for the enhanced coking resistance of the bounded Ni over the free state Ni in Ni/γ-Al2O3 catalysts for DRM ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
