Bovine bacterial abortion caused by Escherichia coli infection

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, August 2026.
Abstract A 3‐year‐old, 500 kg Holstein cow aborted at 7 months of gestation. On histological evaluation of the fetal lungs, abundant neutrophils infiltrated the alveolar spaces, bronchi and bronchioles with intralesional Gram‐negative bacteria, immunolabelled with Escherichia coli immunohistochemistry.

Reproductive outcomes in women with Hodgkin's lymphoma in a Danish fertility preservation cohort

open access: yesActa Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica, Volume 105, Issue 8, Page 1587-1596, August 2026.
The risk of premature ovarian insufficiency increases with the intensity of alkylating chemotherapy. In general, fertility outcomes were favorable, but chances of live birth decreased with increased intensity of alkylating chemotherapy. Ovarian tissue transplantation enabled natural conception in women with premature ovarian insufficiency, supporting ...

Spontaneous miscarriage after intracytoplasmic sperm injection with frozen sperm of patients with testicular germ cell tumour

open access: yesBJU International, Volume 138, Issue 2, Page 315-323, August 2026.
Objective To clarify the impact of chromosomal aberrations on the offspring of patients with testicular germ cell tumour (TGCT) by evaluating the outcomes of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). Patients and Methods Under the ethical review of Yokohama City University, 12 patients with TGCT and 25 with non‐TGCT cancer who had cryopreserved sperm ...

Nutritional Level and Type of Feed on the Reproductive Performance of Ewe and Its Effects on Offspring

open access: yesReproduction in Domestic Animals, Volume 61, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT The amount and source of nutrition are important factors that influence an ewe's reproductive ability, but the effects of diet on the reproductive performance of its offspring are unclear. This study aimed to investigate the impact of maternal nutrition (level of nutrition and source) on the reproductive performance of ewes and their female ...

Comparison of Tree‐Based Machine Learning Algorithms for Classification of Livestock Breeds Based On Post‐Thaw Spermatological Parameters

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science
Reproductive efficiency is a crucial determinant of livestock productivity, with sperm quality being a key factor in successful fertilization. The quantitative assessment of spermatozoa using computer‐assisted sperm analysis (CASA) yields valuable ...

Methodological Determinants of Grayscale Pixel Intensity in Ram Testicular Ultrasonography: Effects of ROI Placement and Imaging Plane Across Age Groups and Two Reproductive Periods

open access: yesReproduction in Domestic Animals, Volume 61, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Testicular ultrasonography is increasingly used in ram breeding soundness evaluations, yet methodological standardization of quantitative grayscale image analysis remains limited. The primary objective of this study was to determine the effects of region‐of‐interest (ROI) placement and imaging plane on testicular parenchymal numerical pixel ...

From Childless Intentions to Motherhood: Familial Pro‐Natalism Among Korean Middle‐Class Women

open access: yesSociology Compass, Volume 20, Issue 8, August 2026.

Cryopreservation of ram semen: baicalein efficiency on oxidative stress, chromatin integrity, viability and motility post thaw

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
Baicalein (B) has potential antioxidant properties, but it has not been tested as a ram semen extender. This study aimed to assess the impact of B on various sperm parameters and determine its potential influence on semen quality after the freeze-thawing

Enhancing post-thaw sperm quality in rams: quinic acid as a natural antioxidant

open access: yesFrontiers in Veterinary Science
IntroductionThis study investigated the effects of quinic acid (QA) supplementation at different concentrations (Control, 50, 100, and 200 μg/mL) on the post-thaw quality of ram semen, with a focus on motility, DNA integrity, flow cytometric parameters ...
