Insertion Sequences as Genomic Markers

2003
Mobile genetic elements are widespread in almost all living organisms. This chapter will focus on insertion sequence (IS) elements, which are bacterial mobile genetic elements carrying genetic information devoted to their transposition and its regulation [1].

Sequence and characterization of an insertion sequence, IS711, from Brucella ovis

Gene, 1993
The nucleotide (nt) sequence of a previously discovered insertion in Brucella ovis was determined and found to have the hallmarks of an insertion sequence (IS). The element, designated IS711, of 842 bp, is similar in G + C content to that of the Brucella genome and is bounded by 20-bp imperfect inverted repeats (IR).

TnPedia: IS3 Family of Prokaryotic Insertion Sequences

This chapter of TnPedia provides a detailed overview of the IS3 family, a group of prokaryotic insertion sequences (ISs). The entry includes classification criteria, conserved domains, representative examples, and distribution across bacterial and archaeal genomes.

Insertion Sequence Followed by the Response

2013
The response formats analysed so far display growth in structural complexity, as announced in the introduction to the analysis. Simple and expanded response turns observed in Chapters 3 and 4 respectively can represent, so to speak, the basic sequential developments in which responses to requests in service encounters can occur.
