Instantaneous Frequency of the EEG as a Stress Measure - A Preliminary Research

2021
Stress is one of the most common factors of everyday life. There is a plethora of different measures used to determine the physiological responses to stress. One of the most commonly used is the electroencephalogram (EEG). Power of various frequency bands in the EEG is often correlated with mental states of the measured subject.

Instantaneous Frequency-Measuring Receivers (Letters)

IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1972
The instantaneous frequency-measuring receiver (IFR) is becoming widely known to microwaye systems engineers, but as a consequence of the defense applications its origins are obscure. The pioneering work on the phase-discriminator technique, which is the basis of most modern IFR systems, was done in the Mullard Research Laboratories, Red Hill, Surrey ...

A photonics-assisted instantaneous frequency measurement receiver

2017 Progress in Electromagnetics Research Symposium - Fall (PIERS - FALL), 2017
Measuring the instantaneous frequency accurately of a signal takes a critical effect on many fields such as radio detection, navigation and so on. Considering signal density is large, time domain overlap is serious and the frequency coverage is wide in the modern electronic warfare environment, it is claimed that the frequency measurement is not only ...

Measurement of Instantaneous Frequency with a Microwave Interferometer

Proceedings of the IRE, 1957
A microwave interferometer for the measurement of instantaneous frequency is described. It consists of a transmission line circuit used as a frequency modulation discriminator, and an indicator consisting of a microwave detector, video amplifier, and oscilloscope.

Frequency relaying based on instantaneous frequency measurement [power systems]

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 1996
A frequency relay capable of under/over frequency and rate of change of frequency measurements has been implemented on a digital signal processor using an instantaneous frequency measuring algorithm. Careful attention to the filtering aspects of the relay is needed under dynamic conditions due to frequency modulation of the input signal.

In-Situ-Linearization for Instantaneous Frequency Measurement Systems

2019 49th European Microwave Conference (EuMC), 2019
In this publication a linearization process for six-port based instantaneous frequency measurement (IFM) systems for surface acoustic wave (SAW) resonators is presented. This concept makes the system more tolerant against temperature and other environmental influences and can be further implemented on microcontrollers.

Photonic Assisted Broadband Instantaneous Frequency Measurement

Asia Communications and Photonics Conference 2014, 2014
The instantaneous microwave frequency measurement with amplitude comparison functions is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. From the proof-of-concept experiment, the measurement error is smaller than ±150 MHz in the frequency range of 1–20 GHz.

Photonic implementation of an instantaneous frequency measurement

2011
With the rapid and ongoing developments in telecommunication and electronic warfare technology, faster and more flexible systems are in demand. Wideband signal processing is thus needed to implement such systems. Microwave photonics has been introduced as a tool for achieving such ultra broadband signal processing.Instantaneous Frequency Measurement ...

Instantaneous Frequency Measurement (IFM) Receivers

2005
In this chapter, the operating principles of IFM receivers, some trade-offs in the designs, and several schemes for digitizing the outputs of the video amplitude will be discussed. Since an IFM receiver can measure only one input signal at a time, one continuous-wave (CW) signal will block the receiver from measuring other input signals.
