Evaluation of Insulin-like Growth Factor-1 and Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein-3 Expression Levels in Patients with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia

open access: yesTurkish Journal of Hematology, 2016
Objective: Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is a disease of nonproliferating and mature-appearing B lymphocytes. Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) is a small peptide hormone and has mitogenic and antiapoptotic effects, and insulin-like growth ...

Nuclear Import of Insulin-like Growth Factor-binding Protein-3 and -5 Is Mediated by the Importin β Subunit*

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 2000
Although insulin-like growth factor-binding protein (IGFBP)-3 and IGFBP-5 are known to modulate cell growth by reversibly sequestering extracellular insulin-like growth factors, several reports have suggested that IGFBP-3, and possibly also IGFBP-5, have

MXene Wrapped Magnetic Mesocrystals for Durable Redox Catalytic Cancer Therapy and Responsive MRI

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conformal wrapping of ultrathin Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets on Fe3O4 mesocrystals creates topology‐stabilized Schottky junctions that direct photoinduced electron transfer under NIR irradiation. The unique architecture sustains Fenton catalysis, promotes continuous hydroxyl radical production, and provides photo‐responsive MRI contrast.

Recent Insights into Insulin-Like Growth Factor Binding Protein 2 Transcriptional Regulation [PDF]

open access: yesEndocrinology and Metabolism, 2017
Insulin-like growth factor binding proteins (IGFBPs) are major regulators of insulin-like growth factor bioavailability and activity in metabolic signaling. Seven IGFBP family isoforms have been identified.

Insulin inhibits transcription of the human gene for insulin-like growth factor-binding protein-1.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1991
Insulin rapidly lowers serum insulin-like growth factor-binding protein-1 (IGFBP-1) levels in vivo. In studies reported here, HEP G2 cells were used as a model system to investigate how insulin achieves this effect.

Chamber‐Specific Decellularized Extracellular Matrices Differentially Modulate Cardiomyocyte Subtypes to Drive Engineered Heart Tissue Development and Function

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Chamber‐specific decellularized extracellular matrices (ECMs) were developed, preserving native proteomic profiles of ventricular and atrial myocardium. These innate biochemical cues differentially modulate cardiomyocyte subtypes to drive engineered heart tissue development and function, highlighting the importance of incorporating regional ECM cues in

High molecular weight insulin-like growth factor binding protein complex. Purification and properties of the acid-labile subunit from human serum.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1989
In the human circulation, the insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) circulate as part of a growth hormone-dependent 125- to 150-kDa complex. This complex has been postulated to contain, in addition to IGFs and one or more IGF-binding proteins, an acid ...

Coaxially Electrospun Myocardial dECM‐ Based Nanofibrous Scaffolds Demonstrate Enhanced Cardiomyocyte Biocompatibility

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Our coaxial electrospinning system is capable of incorporating decellularized myocardial extracellular matrix in a core‐sheath configuration, creating nanofibrous scaffolds. These scaffolds, in turn, support the maintenance of functional cardiomyocytes adhered to the surface of these bioactive scaffolds.

Role of Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein 3 as a Diagnostic Marker of Growth Hormone in Patients with Acromegaly

open access: yesMìžnarodnij Endokrinologìčnij Žurnal, 2013
The paper studied the levels IGFBP-3 in patients with acromegaly, received different therapies. The findings showed that patients with acromegaly after surgical removal of a pituitary tumor, as well as after radiation therapy, the most sensitive ...

Multidimensional Cellular Micro‐Compartments to Model Invasive Lobular Carcinoma Dormancy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Invasive lobular carcinoma (ILC) is an understudied subtype of breast cancer that is susceptible to late recurrences. In this study, micro‐compartmentalization techniques spanning multiple dimensions, including 2D, pseudo‐3D, and 3D, are integrated to uncover the mechanisms underlying ILC dormancy, revealing the central role of p27Kip1.
