Effect of dietary fish oil on the sensitivity of hepatic lipid metabolism to regulation by insulin
The contribution of dietary fat content and type to changes in the sensitivity of hepatic lipid metabolism to insulin was studied in primary hepatocyte cultures from donor rats maintained on a low-fat diet (LF), or on diets enriched in olive oil (OO) or ...

CHoKI-based MPC for blood glucose regulation in Artificial Pancreas [PDF]
This work presents a Model Predictive Control (MPC) for the artificial pancreas, which is able to autonomously manage basal insulin injections in type 1 diabetic patients. Specifically, the MPC goal is to maintain the patients' blood glucose level inside the safe range of 70-180 mg/dL, acting on the insulin amount and respecting all the imposed ...

Electrospinning enables the hierarchical assembly of nanofiber‐based scaffolds for tissue engineering. However, encapsulated proteins often undergo structural changes. This study used mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs) as protective carriers, mitigating protein denaturation and supporting controlled release.

Enhanced Epithelial Cell Uptake of Glycol Chitosan‐Coated PLGA Nanoparticles for Oral Drug Delivery
Here, glycol chitosan (GC)‐coated PLGA NPs are developed to enhance oral drug delivery by enabling dual‐pathway endocytosis via clathrin‐ and caveolae‐mediated mechanisms. Alginate layering coating on GC‐PLGA further improves oral insulin delivery, achieving sustained glucose reduction in diabetic mice.
