Method for searching higher symmetries for quad graph equations

open access: yes, 2011
Generalized symmetry integrability test for discrete equations on the square lattice is studied. Integrability conditions are discussed. A method for searching higher symmetries (including non-autonomous ones) for quad graph equations is suggested based ...

INTEGRATION – WHAT INTEGRATION?

open access: yesEuropean Societies, 2012
ABSTRACT Since the founding of the European Union, religion has become an increasingly important aspect in shaping European identity and thereby social cohesion in Europe. Social cohesion depends to a high degree on a successfully established distinction between ‘us’ and ‘them’.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Supersymmetric extension of the sine-Gordon theory with integrable boundary interactions

open access: yes, 1995
Integrability and supersymmetry of the supersymmetric extension of the sine-Gordon theory on a half-line are examined and the boundary potential which preserves both the integrability and supersymmetry on the bulk is derived.

Integrating the Integration

open access: yesJournal of Problem Based Learning in Higher Education, 2023
This paper provides a conceptual elaboration of the role of Problem-based Learning (PBL) in the integration of social sciences and humanities (SSH) with science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), and an analysis of the challenges this brings about.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Integrability for Solutions of Anisotropic Obstacle Problems

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2012
This paper deals with anisotropic obstacle problem for the 𝒜-harmonic equation ∑i=1nDi(ai(x,Du(x)))=0. An integrability result is given under suitable assumptions, which show higher integrability of the boundary datum, and the obstacle force solutions u ...

Analytical solutions in $R+qR^{n}$ cosmology from singularity analysis

open access: yes, 2016
The integrability of higher-order theories of gravity is of importance in the determining the properties of these models and so their viability as models of reality. An important tool in the establishment of integrability is the singularity analysis.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...
