Electromagnetic Scattering Analysis of SHDB Objects Using Surface Integral Equation Method

open access: yesPhotonics, 2020
A surface integral equation (SIE) method is applied in order to analyze electromagnetic scattering by bounded arbitrarily shaped three-dimensional objects with the SHDB boundary condition.

Sharp exponents and a Wiener type condition for boundary regularity of quasiminimizers

open access: yes, 2015
We obtain a sufficient condition for boundary regularity of quasiminimizers of the p-energy integral in terms of a Wiener type sum of power type. The exponent in the sum is independent of the dimension and is explicitly expressed in terms of p and the ...

Integrable lattice realizations of N=1 superconformal boundary conditions [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2002
We construct integrable boundary conditions for sl(2) coset models with central charges c=3/2-12/(m(m+2)) and m=3,4,... The associated cylinder partition functions are generating functions for the branching functions but these boundary conditions manifestly break the superconformal symmetry.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Problems with Missing Tricomi Condition and Analog of Frankl Condition for One Class of Mixed Type Equations

open access: yesMathematics
In this paper, for a mixed elliptic-hyperbolic type equation with various degeneration orders and singular coefficients, theorems of uniqueness and existence of the solution to the problem with a missing Tricomi condition on boundary characteristic and ...

An Approximate Grid Solution of a Nonlocal Boundary Value Problem with Integral Boundary Condition for Laplace's Equation

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences, 2018
A new method for the solution of a nonlocal boundary value problem with integral boundary condition for Laplace's equation on a rectangular domain is proposed and justified.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Positive solutions of boundary value problems for systems of second-order differential equations with integral boundary condition on the half-line

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2009
In this paper, we study the existence of positive solutions of boundary value problems for systems of second-order differential equations with integral boundary condition on the half-line.

An integral equation method for solving neumann problems on simply and multiply connected regions with smooth boundaries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
This research presents several new boundary integral equations for the solution of Laplace’s equation with the Neumann boundary condition on both bounded and unbounded multiply connected regions.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.
