High frequency difraction by a soft circular disc. I the plane wave at normal incidence [PDF]
The far scattered field off the axis of symmetry of the disc is found for a high frequency, harmonic, normally incident, plane wave. The method used is due to Jones and involves the solution of a singular integral equation of the first kind for the field

The enzyme 5‐lipoxygenase (5‐LOX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes (LTs) involved in inflammatory pathophysiology. After cellular stimulation, 5‐LOX translocates to the nucleus, interacting with the 5‐LOX‐activating protein (FLAP) to form LTA4 from arachidonic acid (AA).

The skew derivative problem for the Helmholtz equation outside cuts in a plane [PDF]
The skew derivative problem for the propagative Helmholtz equation outside cuts in a plane is studied by potential theory and the boundary integral equation method.

On integrability of the Killing equation [PDF]
Killing tensor fields have been thought of as describing hidden symmetry of space(-time) since they are in one-to-one correspondence with polynomial first integrals of geodesic equations. Many problems in classical mechanics can be formulated as geodesic problems in curved spaces and spacetimes, and thus solving the defining equation for Killing tensor

UDP‐glucuronic acid 4‐epimerase (UGAepi) catalyzes NAD+‐dependent interconversion of UDP‐glucuronic acid (UDP‐GlcA) and UDP‐galacturonic acid (UDP‐GalA) via C4‐oxidation, 4‐keto‐intermediate rotation, and C4‐reduction. Here, Borg et al. examined the role of the substrate's carboxylate group in the enzymic mechanism by analyzing NADH‐dependent reduction

On the integral equation of an adjoint boundary value problem of heat conduction
An integral equation is considered, to which a nonhomogeneous first boundary value problem with an adjoint heat conduction operator is reduced. The problem is set in an infinite plane angle, that is, a boundary of the domain moves with a constant ...

On the properties of the solution set map to Volterra integral inclusion
For the multivalued Volterra integral equation defined in a Banach space, the set of solutions is proved to be $R_\delta$, without auxiliary conditions imposed in Theorem 6 [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 403 (2013), 643-666]. It is shown that the solution set map,

Glutaredoxin (Grx) 3 proteins contain a thioredoxin domain and one to three class II Grx domains. These proteins play a crucial role in iron homeostasis in eukaryotic cells. In human Grx3, at least one of the two Grx domains, together with the thioredoxin domain, is essential for its function in iron metabolism.

Modified Block-Pulse Functions Scheme for Solve of Two-Dimensional Stochastic Integral Equations
In this paper, two-dimensional modified block-pulse functions (2D-MBPFs) method is introduced for approximate solution of 2D-linear stochastic Volterra-Fredholm integral equations so the ordinary and stochastic operrational matrices of integration are ...

AbstractFor a linear integral equation x(t)=a(t)−∫0tB(t,s)x(s)ds there is a resolvent equation R(t,s)=B(t,s)−∫stB(t,u)R(u,s)du and a variation of parameters formula x(t)=a(t)−∫0tR(t,s)a(s)ds. It is assumed that B is a perturbed convex function and that a(t) may be badly behaved in several ways.
