Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Electrical Effect of Nitrogen Implanted Into LDD of MOSFETs

open access: yesIEEE Journal of the Electron Devices Society
The motivation of this study was to solve the high $\rm I_{D,off}$ problem in 8 Volt N-channel MOSFET. We experimented with implanting nitrogen into LDD at various doses.

Adaptive Integration and Improper Integrals [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1975
Let R be the class of all functions that are properly Riemann-integrable on [0, 1], and let IR be the class of all functions that are properly Riemann-integrable on [a, 1] for all a > 0 a > 0 and for which \[ lim a →

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Frequency transfer and inverse design for metasurface under multi-physics coupling by Euler latent dynamic and data-analytical regularizations

open access: yesNature Communications
Frequency transfer is a key challenge in machine learning as it allows researchers to go beyond in-range analyses of spectrum properties towards out-of-the-range predictions. Traditionally, to predict properties at a specific frequency, targeted spectrum

Monolithically Integrated Multiwavelength Laser With Optical Feedback: Damped Relaxation Oscillation Dynamics and Narrowed Linewidth

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2018
An InP-based, monolithically integrated multiwavelength laser with optical feedback is presented. We demonstrate the performance of the dual-wavelength operation. Single-mode lasing is obtained for each of the two channels within a temperature range from
