Using the class 1 integron-integrase gene as a proxy for anthropogenic pollution [PDF]
This is the final version of the article. Available from the publisher via the DOI in this record.Around all human activity, there are zones of pollution with pesticides, heavy metals, pharmaceuticals, personal care products and the microorganisms ...

A novel hexaplex recombinase polymerase amplification (RPA) method was developed to rapidly and accurately detect five key carbapenemase genes and a Klebsiella pneumoniae‐specific target in a single reaction. This makes it an effective tool for CRKP detection in resource‐constrained environments.

Resistance integrons. Mini review
Integrons are a segment of dsDNA that play a major role in bacterial adaptation and evolution. These genetic determinants are known by the presence of three necessary apparatuses: an integrase (intI gene), Pc (a promoter) and attI (a recombination site).

Integron Prevalence and Diversity in Manured Soil [PDF]
ABSTRACT The levels of integron abundance and diversity in soil amended with pig slurry were studied. Real-time PCR illustrated a significant increase in class 1 integron prevalence after slurry application, with increased prevalence still evident at 10 months after application.

The contribution of Escherichia coli from human and animal sources to the integron gene pool in coastal waters [PDF]
To understand the contribution of animal- and human-derived fecal pollution sources in shaping integron prevalence and diversity in beach waters, 414 Escherichia coli strains were collected from beach waters (BW, n = 166), seagull feces (SF, n = 179 ...

IntI2 Integron Integrase in Tn7 [PDF]
ABSTRACTIntegrons can insert and excise antibiotic resistance genes on plasmids in bacteria by site-specific recombination. Class 1 integrons code for an integrase, IntI1 (337 amino acids in length), and are generally borne on elements derived from Tn5090, such as that found in the central part of Tn21. A second class of integron is found on transposon

Antimicrobial resistance and class I integrons in Salmonella enterica isolates from wild boars and Bísaro pigs [PDF]
The antibiotic resistance phenotype and genotype and the integron type were characterized in 58 Salmonellaenterica isolates recovered from Bísaro pigs and wild boars (20 S. Typhimurium, 17 S. Rissen, 14 S. Enteritidis and 7S. Havana).

Iranian clinical Stenotrophomonas maltophilia isolates showed high susceptibility to trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, minocycline, and levofloxacin, but marked resistance to ceftazidime and ticarcillin‐clavulanate, alongside widespread biofilm production and resistance genes.
