Future Transportation: Intelligent Vehicles in Intelligent Environment
2007 4th International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics, 2007In the paper there the structure and build-up of transportation systems, their development, and especially, the needs established by the society that motivate the continuous expansion of such systems will be outlined. The development is determined by the four participants ("components") of these systems, namely by the human beings, vehicles ...

An intelligent system for an autonomous vehicle
Proceedings. 1986 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 1986This paper describes an intelligent full-size autonomous vehicle system which simultaneously performs multiple constraint path planning from a DMA data base and goal properties list, obstacle avoidance, and road following. Path planning and obstacle avoidance were successfully demonstrated in March 1985; road following will be demonstrated in February ...

Intelligent Navigation of Emergency Vehicles
2011 Developments in E-systems Engineering, 2011This paper presents a centralized structure for optimum navigation of emergency vehicles with emphasis on ambulances in disaster situations. In this system, an enhanced fuzzy controlled ant colony system (FCACS) based search engine is proposed for optimum route selection. Performance of the system is evaluated by simulating it on a part on London, UK.

On the mobile intelligence of autonomous vehicles
NOMS 2016 - 2016 IEEE/IFIP Network Operations and Management Symposium, 2016Despite impressive developments in autonomous driving technology, little work has been devoted to improving the mobility intelligence of self-driving vehicles. Intelligent transport mobility, where cars autonomously or collaborative take mobility decisions, will be of major importance for future transportation systems.

Intelligent monitoring of electric vehicle
2009 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics, 2009This paper deals with a residual generation for actuators fault detection and isolation (FDI) of electric vehicle with decentralized control. The FDI approach is model based diagnosis, where the modeling step is done using bond graph theory, in order to model separately the considered vehicle components with their nonlinearity, then to show explicitly ...

Comfort Intelligence for Autonomous Vehicles
2018 IEEE International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality Adjunct (ISMAR-Adjunct), 2018Variety of different autonomous vehicles have been developed for different use cases. Previous studies mostly focus on safety and efficiency for a realization of autonomous vehicles, however, it is also necessary to consider passenger comfort in autonomous vehicles for the real use case of autonomous vehicles in the human society.

Cognitive Awareness of Intelligent Vehicles
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2010<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">The safety of vehicle driving is within the focus of automotive development. In this work, an approach realizing cognitive awareness is introduced for automotive applications. The advantage of the approach is that the underlying Situation-Operator-Modeling (SOM) concept, can be ...

Speed Supervisor for Intelligent Vehicles
2007Advance Driver Assistance Systems help the driver with functions as communications, road mark detection, road sign recognition or pedestrian detection. A real time system that warns the driver in case of anomalous speed is described in this article. The speed of the vehicle is obtained from a GPS and at the same time a Computer Vision System is used to

Intelligent Vehicle Survey and Applications
2009Intelligent or Autonomous Vehicles are not visionary technologies that may be present in a far away future. From high tech military unmanned systems and automatic reverse parallel parking to cruise control and Antilock Brake Systems (ABS), these technologies are becoming embedded in people's daily life.
