Multiple interactive factors in hepatocarcinogenesis
Cancer Letters, 2014Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the fifth most prevalent cancer and the third most frequent cause of cancer mortality globally. Each year there are approximately 630,000 new cases of HCC in the world and more than half of the new cases occur in China.

Phytochrome-interacting factors
Seminars in Cell & Developmental Biology, 2000The phytochrome family of sensory photoreceptors transduces environmental light signals to responsive nuclear genes by poorly defined pathways. The recent application of yeast two-hybrid library screens to the identification of components that physically interact with members of the phytochrome family has dramatically altered previous views of the ...

Coagulation Factor Interaction with Platelets
Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 2002Since the initial observation that bleeding is stopped by a platelet plug, it has been clear that platelets play an important role in hemostasis. Patients with very low platelet counts (thrombocytopenia) or with disfunctional platelets have a bleeding diathesis.

FACTOR INTERACTION IN NONLINEAR FACTOR ANALYSIS
British Journal of Mathematical and Statistical Psychology, 1967Factor interaction models are defined as those cases in nonlinear factor analysis in which the specification equation contains products of two or more latent variables or functions of latent variables. A complete algebraic treatment is given for the case of a product of two latent variables, and certain more general cases are briefly outlined.

Interaction of Restin with transcription factors
Science in China Series C: Life Sciences, 2005Restin, a member of melanoma-associated antigen superfamily gene, was first cloned from differentiated leukemia cell induced by all trans-retinoic acid, and was able to inhibit cell proliferation, but the molecular mechanism was not clear. Since Restin was localized in cell nucleus, and its homolog member, Necdin (neuronal growth suppressor factor ...

Factorization Bandits for Interactive Recommendation
Proceedings of the AAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2017We perform online interactive recommendation via a factorization-based bandit algorithm. Low-rank matrix completion is performed over an incrementally constructed user-item preference matrix, where an upper confidence bound based item selection strategy is developed to balance the exploit/explore trade-off during online learning ...

Human factors in interactive graphics
Computer-Aided Design, 1976Abstract Conventional wisdom has it that the range of analyses of which a computer-aided design system is capable is the primary factor in assessing its value in the design process. However, it is becoming clear that far more attention needs to be given to what are termed the human factors of a CAD system. For example, one of the principal objectives

Investigating interaction with a ring form factor
Proceedings of the 16th International Conference on Mobile and Ubiquitous Multimedia, 2017In this note, we study interaction with a finger worn ring, focusing on interaction enabled by the ring form factor. We report on 2 user studies, the first (n=13) investigating preferences for different interactions, whilst the second (n=7) explores usage contexts and applications.

Factoring games to isolate strategic interactions
Proceedings of the 6th international joint conference on Autonomous agents and multiagent systems, 2007Game theoretic reasoning about multi-agent systems has been made more tractable by algorithms that exploit various types of independence in agents’ utilities. However, previous work has assumed that a game’s precise independence structure is given in advance. This paper addresses the problem of finding independence structure in a general form game when

Factorization for Component-Interaction Automata
2012Component-interaction automata is a verification oriented formalism devised to be general enough to capture important aspects of component interaction in various kinds of component systems. A factorization problem naturally arises in formalisms that are based on composition. In general, the factorization problem may be presented as finding a solution X
