Stability of motor representations after paralysis
Neural plasticity allows us to learn skills and incorporate new experiences. What happens when our lived experiences fundamentally change, such as after a severe injury?

Individual susceptibility determines the magnitude of stress effects on cognitive function. The hippocampus, a brain region of memory consolidation, is vulnerable to stressful environments, and the impact of stress on hippocampus may determine individual

Transport of interface states in the Heisenberg chain [PDF]
We demonstrate the transport of interface states in the one-dimensional ferromagnetic Heisenberg model by a time dependent magnetic field. Our analysis is based on the standard Adiabatic Theorem.

Coherent transfer of topological interface states
We demonstrate the controlled coherent transfer of topological interface states in a one-dimensional non-Hermitian chain of interacting Bose-Einstein condensates. The topological protection stems from a spatially patterned pump in an open-dissipative system.

c(2x2) Interface Alloys in Co/Cu Multilayers - Influence on Interlayer Exchange Coupling and GMR [PDF]
The influence of a c(2x2) ordered interface alloy of 3d transition metals at the ferromagnet/nonmagnet interface on interlayer exchange coupling (IXC), the formation of quantum well states (QWS) and the phenomenon of Giant MagnetoResistance is ...

Intrinsic interface states in InAs–AlSb heterostructures [PDF]
We examine the possibility of intrinsic interface states bound to the plane of In-Sb chemical bonds at InAs/AlSb interfaces. Careful parameterization of the bulk materials in the frame of the extended basis spds^* tight-binding model and recent progress in predictions of band offsets severely limit the span of tight-binding parameters describing this ...

Energy concepts involved in MOS characterization
Starting from a quantum statistical reasoning, it is demonstrated that entropy properties of silicon/silicon dioxide interface electron traps may have a strong influence on measured distributions of interface states, depending on measurement method used.
