Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Interference mitigation through adaptive power control in wireless sensor networks

open access: yes, 2015
Adaptive transmission power control schemes have been introduced in wireless sensor networks to adjust energy consumption under different network conditions. This is a crucial goal, given the constraints under which sensor communications operate.

Cooperative Downlink Multicell Preprocessing Relying on Reduced-Rate Back-Haul Data Exchange [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Different-complexity multicell preprocessing (MCP) schemes employing distributed signal-to-interference leakage-plus-noise ratio (SILNR) precoding techniques are proposed, which require reduced back-haul data exchange in comparison with the conventional ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

A Signal Processing Algorithm for Interference Suppression of Automotive Radar Using an Auxiliary Receiver [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science
In this work, we propose an automotive radar system equipped with an add-on receiver (RX) capable of sensing and suppressing interference signals. The add-on RX is designed to filter out target signals, allowing only signals from interferers to exist in ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Numerical model of the QiTai radio Telescope PAF receiver signal and simulation of interference mitigation

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences
Xinjiang Qitai is constructing a 110-m fully steerable radio telescope (QiTai radio Telescope [QTT]) equipped with a phased array feeds (PAF) receiver, which will install the focal plane operating from 0.7 to 1.8 GHz.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Self-Tuning Synthesis Filter against Mutual Coupling and Interferences for GNSS and Its Implementation on Embedded Board

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2010
Traditional spatial-temporal adaptive signal processing techniques are often applied to conduct narrowband and wideband interferences. However, its mitigation performance degrades greatly due to mutual coupling.
