Matrix Scaling and Balancing via Box Constrained Newton's Method and Interior Point Methods
In this paper, we study matrix scaling and balancing, which are fundamental problems in scientific computing, with a long line of work on them that dates back to the 1960s.

Convergence analysis of an Inexact Infeasible Interior Point method for Semidefinite Programming [PDF]
In this paper we present an extension to SDP of the well known infeasible Interior Point method for linear programming of Kojima,Megiddo and Mizuno (A primal-dual infeasible-interior-point algorithm for Linear Programming, Math. Progr., 1993).

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

A full Nesterov-Todd step interior-point method for circular cone optimization
In this paper, we present a full Newton step feasible interior-point method for circular cone optimization by using Euclidean Jordan algebra. The search direction is based on the Nesterov-Todd scaling scheme, and only full-Newton step is ...

A distributed primal-dual interior-point method for loosely coupled problems using ADMM [PDF]
In this paper we propose an efficient distributed algorithm for solving loosely coupled convex optimization problems. The algorithm is based on a primal-dual interior-point method in which we use the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) to ...

The noncoding region of the genome plays a key role in regulating gene expression, and mutations within these regions are capable of altering it. Researchers have identified multiple functional noncoding mutations associated with increased cancer risk in the genome of breast cancer patients.
