Double-Layer Systems at Zero Magnetic Field

open access: yes, 2000
We investigate theoretically the effects of intralayer and interlayer exchange in biased double-layer electron and hole systems, in the absence of a magnetic field.

Polytypism and Unexpected Strong Interlayer Coupling of two-Dimensional Layered ReS2

open access: yes, 2015
The anisotropic two-dimensional (2D) van der Waals (vdW) layered materials, with both scientific interest and potential application, have one more dimension to tune the properties than the isotropic 2D materials.

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Electro-Optic Properties of High-Efficiency Organic Electronics with the Addition of An Interlayer

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
This study investigated the electro-optic properties of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) devices with the addition of an interlayer. A device with the perfluorododecyl-1H,1H,2H,2H-triethoxysilane–perfluorotetradecyl 1H,1H,2H,2H-triethoxysilane mixture

Frustration of the interlayer coupling by mobile holes in La2-xSrxCuO4 (x<0.02)

open access: yes, 2002
We have studied the interlayer coupling in the antiferromagnetic (AF) phase of Sr and Zn doped La2CuO4 by analyzing the spin flip transition in the magnetization curves.

Characterization of Nitinol Produced by Laser Powder Bed Fusion for Mechanical Metamaterial Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Stabilization of L‐PBF Ni50.7Ti49.3 under low‐cycle loading was investigated. Recoverable strain after cycling was dependent on the amount of applied load. Recovery ratio was 53.4% and 35.1% at intermediate and high load, respectively. The maximum total strain reached 10.3% at a high load of 1200 MPa.

Effect of interlayer processes on the superconducting state within t-J-U model: Full Gutzwiller wave-function solution and relation to experiment

open access: yes, 2017
The Gutzwiller wave function solution of the $t$-$J$-$U$ model is considered for the bilayer high-T$_C$ superconductor by using the so-called diagrammatic expansion method.

Thermodynamic Pathways of Nonequilibrium Solidification in Wire‐Arc Additive Manufacturing Fe‐Based Multicomponent Alloy Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Geometry‐driven thermal behavior in wire‐arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) influences microstructural evolution during nonequilibrium solidification of a chemically complex Fe–Cr–Nb–W–Mo–C nanocomposite system. By comparing different deposits configurations, distinct entropy–cooling rate correlations, segregation, and carbide evolution are revealed ...

Shear properties of the sapphire/ interlayer / TC4 alloy brazed joints using Ag-Cu-Ti filler metals

open access: yesHanjie xuebao
Ceramic/metal brazing connection faces problems such as poor wetting of the ceramic surface by brazing metal and difficulty in alleviating the residual stress of joints.

Monotonic growth of interlayer magnetoresistance in strong magnetic field in very anisotropic layered metals

open access: yes, 2011
It is shown, that the monotonic part of interlayer electronic conductivity strongly decreases in high magnetic field perpendicular to the conducting layers. We consider only the coherent interlayer tunnelling, and the obtained result strongly contradicts
