Powder Optimization Strategies for Binder Jetting Printing of BaTiO3 and Ba0,6Sr0,4TiO3 Ceramics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Powder optimization is investigated to enable binder jetting of BaTiO3 and Ba0.6Sr0.4TiO3 ferroelectric ceramics. The antagonistic relationship between flowability and binder compatibility is addressed through binder impregnation of granulated powders and fumed silica addition to fine powders.

Structural regularities of welded seam between Ti-TiB and vanadium with 12X18H10T interlayer by using electron beam welding

open access: yesMechanics and Advanced Technologies, 2020
Possibilities of obtaining and using an intermediate layer for joining of Ti-TiB and austenitic steel 12X18H10T (analog of AISI 321; 1.4541; X10CrNiTi18-10) were studied. An alloyed interlayer with TiB reinforcing fibers and the main alloying elements of

Pinning modes and interlayer correlation in high magnetic field bilayer Wigner solids

open access: yes, 2006
We report studies of pinning mode resonances in the low total Landau filling (\nu) Wigner solid of a series of bilayer hole samples with negligible interlayer tunneling, and with varying interlayer separation d.

Material Strength in Polymer Shape Deposition Manufacturing [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Shape Deposition Manufacturing (SDM) is a layered manufacturing process involving an iterative combination of material addition and material removal. Polymer SDM processes have used castable thermoset resins to build a variety of parts. The strength of

Assessing Altered Coating Adhesion on Plasma‐Deoxidized Surfaces Under Oxygen‐Free Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the effectiveness of atmospheric pressure plasma pretreatment in modifying silicon and stainless steel surfaces to improve adhesion. Argon‐hydrogen plasma increases surface roughness and improves adhesion strength, whereas pure argon results in smoother surfaces and structural changes.

Determinant quantum Monte Carlo study of exciton condensation in the bilayer Hubbard model

open access: yes, 2013
We studied the possibility of exciton condensation in a strongly correlated bilayer extended Hubbard model using Determinant Quantum Monte Carlo. To model both the onsite repulsion U and the interlayer interaction V we introduced a novel update scheme ...

Interlayer expansion

open access: yes, 2020
Co, Ti, V and Zn metal cations are incorporated as linker sites between the interlayer expanded layers of RUB-36 to create new crystalline, three-dimensional metallosilicate microporous framework materials. In a hydrothermal reaction, Co-, Ti-, V- or Zn-Acac are added to the hydrous silicate precursor RUB-36 in a hydrous acidic suspension to obtain an ...
