From Shear to Sound: Mechanics–Acoustics Mapping of TPMS Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices are mapped across mechanical and acoustic performance, revealing that descriptors validated in compression fail under shear. First‐time comparison with trusses included. A transition from porous to resonance‐driven absorption emerges at 25% density.

Boosting Polysulfide Redox Kinetics in Lithium–Sulfur Battery via V2CTx MXene/Porous Carbon Nanofiber Composite Interlayer

open access: yesSmall Structures
The practical application of lithium–sulfur batteries (LSBs) is hindered by the polysulfide shuttle effect and the sluggish sulfur redox kinetics. Herein, a multifunctional interlayer composed of V2CTx MXene and porous carbon nanofibers (PCNFs) is ...

Joining Aluminium Alloy 5A06 to Stainless Steel 321 by Vaporizing Foil Actuators Welding with an Interlayer

open access: yesMetals, 2019
Direct aluminium–stainless steel joints are difficult to create by the vaporized foil actuator welding (VFAW) method because brittle intermetallic compounds (IMCs) tend to form along the interface.

Study of Bag Grouting Pile Reinforcing Deep Soft-Soil Foundation with an Interlayer of Hard Materials on High-Speed Railway Ballast Track

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
High-speed railways are built in deep soft-soil foundations interlayered with hard materials. However, the hard layers cannot be penetrated by conventional foundation treatment.

Silicon-Quantum-Dot Light-Emitting Diodes With Interlayer-Enhanced Hole Transport

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
Despite the technological importance of silicon quantum dots (Si QDs) which are solely made of abundant and nontoxic Si, Si-QD light-emitting diodes (LEDs) clearly lag behind those based on other QDs, especially Cd- or Pb-containing QDs. It is imperative

Residual stresses in ceramic metal assembly after brazing process [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The framework of this study is the thermo-mechanical analysis of the brazing process of ceramic metal assemblies. The thermal expansion gradient between ceramic and metallic materials leads to the development of residual stresses during the cooling phase

Reconfigurable Logic‐in‐Memory Operations Enabled by Triple‐Gated Feedback Field‐Effect Transistors for Area‐Efficient Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A reconfigurable logic‐in‐memory cell composed of triple‐gated feedback field‐effect transistors implements multiple combinational logic functions within a single configuration. By utilizing program gates as dynamic input terminals, the proposed cell performs full adder, full subtractor, 2‐to‐1 multiplexer, and 4‐to‐2 encoder operations without ...

Interlayer expansion

open access: yes, 2020
Co, Ti, V and Zn metal cations are incorporated as linker sites between the interlayer expanded layers of RUB-36 to create new crystalline, three-dimensional metallosilicate microporous framework materials. In a hydrothermal reaction, Co-, Ti-, V- or Zn-Acac are added to the hydrous silicate precursor RUB-36 in a hydrous acidic suspension to obtain an ...
