Cytoplasmic tail of IL-13Ralpha2 regulates IL-4 signal transduction

open access: yes, 2009
IL (interleukin)-4 and IL-13 are key cytokines in the pathogenesis of allergic inflammatory disease. IL-4 and IL-13 share many functional properties as a result of their utilization of a common receptor complex comprising IL-13Ralpha1 (IL-13 receptor ...

TOLLIP Inhibits Psoriasis Progression via Suppressing PKM2‐Mediated Glycolysis in Keratinocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, we identify TOLLIP as a critical regulator of psoriasis pathogenesis through its modulation of glycolytic metabolism. Our findings establish the TOLLIP‐PKM2‐glycolysis axis as a key mechanism linking metabolic reprogramming to psoriasis pathogenesis, and propose TOLLIP as a promising therapeutic target.

Anti-inflammatory activities of novel heat shock protein 90 isoform selective inhibitors in BV-2 microglial cells

open access: yesFrontiers in Molecular Biosciences
Heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) is a family of chaperone proteins that consists of four isoforms: Hsp90α, Hsp90β, glucose-regulated protein 94 (Grp94), and tumor necrosis factor type 1 receptor-associated protein (TRAP1).

Nanomaterials for Allergy Diagnosis and Treatment: Advances, Opportunities and Translational Challenges

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Nanomaterials offer dual applications in allergy management. For diagnosis, nanomaterials enhance analytical sensitivity and improve detection in specific IgE and functional assays such as the basophil activation test (BAT). For allergen‐specific immunotherapy, nanomaterials enable allergen masking and controlled release, and effectively modulate the ...

Macrophages exposed continuously to lipopolysaccharide and other agonists that act via toll-like receptors exhibit a sustained and additive activation state [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Background: Macrophages sense microorganisms through activation of members of the Toll-like receptor family, which initiate signals linked to transcription of many inflammation associated genes.

Inhibition of Cartilage Acidic Protein 1 Reduces Ultraviolet B Irradiation Induced-Apoptosis through P38 Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinase and Jun Amino-Terminal Kinase Pathways

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2016
Background/Aims: Ultraviolet B (UVB) irradiation can easily induce apoptosis in human lens epithelial cells (HLECs) and further lead to various eye diseases including cataract. Here for the first time, we investigated the role of cartilage acidic protein

Interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase-1 is a therapeutic target for gastric cancer

open access: yesDiscover Oncology
Abstract Interleukin-1 receptor-associated kinase 1 (IRAK1), a pivotal mediator in innate immunity and inflammatory processes, exhibits constitutive activation across various cancers. Our study highlights the significant role of IRAK1 in gastric cancer progression. We observed elevated IRAK1 expression in both gastric cancer tissues and cells,
