Effect of blood transfusion on gene expression of transforming growth factor beta-1 and the alpha subunit of interleukin 2 receptor in a model of colonic wound healing

Methods and Findings in Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology, 2006
Blood transfusions have been shown in the past to compromise wound healing in experimental models of colonic anastomosis. Transforming growth factor beta (TGFbeta) has been proposed to play a major role in the process of colonic wound healing, and its expression is believed to be modulated by interleukin-2 (IL2).

Interleukin 2 (IL-2) Variants Engineered for Increased IL-2 Receptor α-Subunit Affinity Exhibit Increased Potency Arising from a Cell Surface Ligand Reservoir Effect

Molecular Pharmacology, 2004
Proliferation of activated T cells and CD56 bright natural killer (Cytokine Growth Factor Rev 13:169-183, 1995) cells caused by interleukin-2 (IL-2) has been exploited in IL-2-based therapies for the treatment of metastatic renal cell carcinoma and melanoma (J Clin Oncol 13:688-696, 1995; J Clin Oncol 17: 2105-2116, 1999). In this study, we demonstrate

Inhibition of interleukin-2 receptor alpha-subunit gene expression by oligonucleotide-directed triple helix formation.

Comptes rendus de l'Academie des sciences. Serie III, Sciences de la vie, 1993
Oligonucleotide-directed triple helix formation represents a promising approach to block gene expression at the transcriptional level. We have previously shown [10] that a triple-helix-forming oligonucleotide was able to inhibit promoter function of reporter constructs in live cells, provided that the oligonucleotide was covalently linked to an ...

[The STAT5 signaling in the expression of alpha-subunit of interleukin-2 receptor in human blood lymphocytes].

Tsitologiia, 2014
The comparative study of the STAT3 and STAT5 activity (as assessed by tyrosine phosphorylation level) and the expression of a α-subunit of interleukin-2 receptor (as examined by cytophotometric evaluation of the number of CD25+ cells) during the phytohemagglutinin (PHA)-induced proliferation of human blood lymphocytes (HBL) have been made.

Improved biodistribution of 125I-labeled anti-Tac disulfide-stabilized Fv fragment by blocking its binding to the alpha subunit of the interleukin 2 receptor in the circulation with preinjected humanized anti-Tac IgG.

Cancer research, 1997
Animal studies using radiolabeled anti-Tac disulfide-stabilized Fv (dsFv) monoclonal antibody have shown formation of complexes in serum with the soluble alpha subunit of the interleukin 2 receptor alpha (sIL-2R alpha). In this study, we improved the targeting of 125I-labeled anti-Tac dsFv to receptor-positive tumors in the presence of circulating ...
